Our boys travelled to Wombwell today for our final game of the season. This game almost didn't happen, between finding a pitch, finding a referee and player availability, the odds were stacked against us. But in the end, the stars did somewhat align and a huge thank you to Wombwell Town for hosting us and sorting out the referee situation.

Onto the match! Our boys needed to be sharp and Alex was called into action on a few occasions to make some key saves. As we got into a rhythm, we started to create chances and really unlucky not to create more. The boys got a few unlucky bounces and at the end of the first half, we were down 2-0. Very undeserving scoreline but the game was far from over.

Corey got us on the scoreboard with a long ball from Riley into the opposition's end. He got past the defenders and tapped it in. It was a battle from there and Wombwell snuck another one pas us. Still lots of time left though and we were generating chances. Corey had another chance with a quick turn and shot the ball past the keeper. It was now 3-2 and we kept pressing. We had some chances and really unlucky to equalise on a few opportunities.

When the final whistle blew, the game ended 3-2, but with all of the thrilling action and effort, it really didn't feel like a loss.
we played with 10 men the entire match and didn't miss a beat
we gave one of the league leaders an extremely competitive match.
Amazing performances by everyone today, whether key saves from Alex, great composure from Lewis Gill, each and every single boy today left it all out there on the pitch. As such, our men of the match goes to all of the boys.
such a brave performance and an amazing way to end the season on such a competitive note. Congratulations boys and cheers to an amazing season!

Under 13's at Winterhill Community
Won 11-3
Sponsored by Dave Cox Golf at Wath Golf Club

In any Game or Sport, for a team to win every league game in a season at any level is an excellent achievement.

Travelling to Winterhill this morning the Under 13's had this great goal to achievement with another win.

The game started really well and on four minutes after a corner from James the ball bounced around in the box before Rupert slotted home the opener.
Unfortunately the hosts wanted to spoil the party and they equalised on seven minute.

Josh, Alex Will and Jack W controlled the midfield whilst the usual solid defence held firm with Jack K in command off his box.

It was a long wait though until Kris made it 2-1 on 32 minutes after a pass from James.

So plenty of work to do in the second half and it was James on five minutes that latched on to a great ball from Alex and it was 3-1.

Seven minutes in Kobie was up from the back to score after a great save following a corner.

Just a minute later great work from Josh which found Jack W to make it 5-1
Jack W then assisted James on nine minutes and it was 6-1.

The hosts got another back on eleven minutes but just two minutes later a brilliant move started with Dylan who found Kris, his flick on fell nicely for James to complete another hat-trick and Anston's seventh.

Some great work at the back from Oliver and running from Henry helped in a great team effort before Josh played James through for his fourth and the teams eighth.

On 16 minutes the unthinkable happened Kris once again found his pal James who made it 9-2 and his 5th of the game but this was his 100th goal of the season. 81 in the league 12 in the cup 4 in friendlies and 3 tournament goals. A massive individual achievement.

On 17 minutes there was time for Matty to get the 10th after a corner from James, then with 14 minutes still to go Rupert set up Kris for his second of the day and it was 11-2.

There was still time for the hosts to make it 11-3, but it was over.
20 wins from 20 games.

Man of the match was the whole team whilst James deservedly took the parents M.O.M.

Under 13's at Greasbrough
Sponsored by Dave Cox Golf at Wath Golf Club
Won 9-1

Travelling to Greasbrough tonight the under 13's made it 19 wins out of 19 games in the league.

Things got off to a great start when Kris ran 40 yards and slotted home after just 20 seconds.
On six minutes Rupert found Kris who crossed for James to make it 2-0.

James then returned the favour and set up Kris to make it three.
On 13 minutes the same combination made it 4-0 and a hat-trick for in form Kris.

On 17 minutes Dylan's long pass found James and it was 5-0.
Jack K made a couple of good saves and the hosts shot wide on three occasions in their best period of play.

In to the second half Henry's through ball found Kris but he shot wide on this occasion.

Just a minute later though, a flick through from James set up Kris for his 4th and the visitors 6th.

James's hat-trick came four minutes in, with a 15 yard drive, after a pass from Josh, It was now 7-0.
It was 8-0 a minute later when James once again scored from 15 yards out. He joined Kris on 4 goals.

Hayden had a few chances down the right but it was James who made it 9-0 on 16 minutes when he found the bottom corner for his fifth.

With ten minutes remaining the hosts got one back through a free kick from their best player Archie.

Kris, Will and Rupert all had good chances before James rocketed one that hit the post.

The defence stayed solid throughout the match with Kobie and Matty in the centre of things whilst Alex and Will both played at full backs for the first time and Jack K was in good form as usual between the sticks.

Another great team performance with Man of the Match going to Jack W, who played out of position but was excellent throughout.
Parents m.o.m was Dylan, he was outstanding after coming off the bench.
