⚽️ Girls Match Report ⚽️

Today the girls faced a strong Crosspool side who had gone unbeaten in the second half of their season 💪

The girls started brilliantly, moving the ball well and creating some great chances, but unfortunately found themselves 2-0 down from a couple of counter-attacks.

🔥 The response was outstanding! The girls never stopped battling, continued to play some fantastic football, and produced an excellent second-half performance full of character, resilience and quality.

👏 A huge positive was hearing from the opposition coaches that they believe this team should be playing in Division 2 next season – a real credit to how far these girls have come!

An outstanding display in midfield, winning the ball back, driving forward and covering every blade of grass! 💙

🏆 Coaches’ Player – Scarlett
A rock at the back today, dealing brilliantly with overloads and contributing going forward too. Fantastic performance! 💪⚽️

💚🖤 U12 Blacks – Man of the Match 🖤💚

Our Men of the Match last week were Hugo and Ryker.

🌟 Hugo did a fantastic job at left-back when asked to step into a position he had never played before. He was solid, disciplined, strong in the tackle, and consistently found great passes to get us moving forward.

🌟 Ryker came on and made an immediate impact. He brought plenty of physicality to the game while still looking to play football the right way. He found some excellent passes out wide and worked tirelessly from start to finish.

Both boys showed great attitude, commitment, and determination throughout the game.

A gargantuan performance from both of our defenders today! 💪⚽

Showing incredible strength, composure, relentless tenacity, and a determination to let nobody get past them, the boys put in a defensive masterclass from start to finish. They gave absolutely everything for the team and then somehow found even more when it was needed.

Their hard work, commitment, and never-give-up attitude were there for everyone to see, helping the team stand strong throughout the game.

A thoroughly deserved Player of the Match award for both boys. Well done, Hugo and Reuben! 👏💚🖤

💚⚽ Match Report ⚽💚

A well-battled game from the lads today. We weren’t always at our best, but that didn’t stop them digging deep and battling through together as a team. The effort and determination shown by every player was fantastic to see.

One of our newest signings this season, Harry picked up both awards after scoring two absolutely cracking goals! Just what the lad needed to boost his confidence. We’ve always known the player you can be, Harry – now it’s time to believe in yourself too. A brilliant performance and hopefully the first of many.

A trialist who stepped in today and did a fantastic job. Carlton played in multiple positions throughout the game and looked comfortable in every one of them. He brought valuable 9v9 experience to the team, helped boost the confidence of those around him, and slotted in perfectly.

💚⚽ Match Report ⚽💚

After making the decision for the whole team to play up a year at U12s, today we played our first official U12s friendly.

With the boys learning new rules and adapting to 9v9 football, they absolutely smashed it and picked up their very first 9v9 win! 👏💚

🏆 Parents’ Player of the Match – Josh (right)

Josh has definitely found his position in defence. Don’t let his size fool you – not many players got past him today. He was strong in the tackle, read the game brilliantly, and put in a fantastic performance at the back.

🏆 Manager’s Player of the Match – Joseph (middle)

A superb display from Joseph. He grabbed two excellent goals and worked tirelessly in the middle of the park all game, covering every blade of grass with a true box-to-box performance.

🏆 Coaches’ Player of the Match – Rocco (left)

Rocco was outstanding in midfield, constantly breaking up play and winning the ball back. He was an absolute rock in the centre and proved to be a battle that nobody could win today.

A fantastic team performance from every single player. The attitude, effort, and determination were there for all to see, and the boys adapted to 9v9 football brilliantly.

A great start to life at U12s and plenty to be proud of. Well done, boys! 💚⚽👏

💚⚽ ONE YEAR ON ⚽💚

Today marked 12 months since the girls played their very first friendly against Maltby Main. What a year it has been! A year full of development, hard work, determination, and, most importantly, plenty of smiles. We’ll be celebrating that journey later today at our presentation.

As a test of just how far they’ve come, we took on one of the league’s strongest sides, Swinton. It was always going to be a huge challenge, but the girls certainly rose to the occasion.

They produced an outstanding defensive display, throwing their bodies on the line and showing incredible physicality, determination, and resilience throughout. They made life extremely difficult for Swinton and never allowed them to settle into their game.

Just as impressive was their commitment to playing football the right way. The girls continued to build from the back, looked for space, and played forward whenever possible, creating some fantastic opportunities of their own.

We asked for 100% before kick-off, and somehow they delivered 200%.

Every single player deserved recognition today, but our award winners were:

🏆 Coaches’ Player of the Match – Daisy

An absolute rock at the back. Daisy produced a defensive performance of the highest quality, making outstanding challenges and commanding the game with confidence and authority. Her attitude throughout was superb, and her excellent through balls helped launch numerous attacks.

🏆 Parents’ Player of the Match (Tie) – Ava & Erika

⚽ Ava

Another brilliant box-to-box display. Ava excelled in both midfield and defence, making strong challenges and reading the game exceptionally well. Once she won possession, she was a constant threat, often requiring two or three players to stop her, and more often than not, she still came away with the ball.

Excellent from start to finish.

🧤 Erika

Our number one produced an incredible performance between the posts. Erika commanded her area brilliantly and was an absolute brick wall in goal. From double and triple saves to some truly world-class stops, she played a huge part in a fantastic team performance.

A brilliant way to mark the girls’ first year together. We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. 💚⚽
