A sad loss of a true sporting hero who gave so much to Sheffield, inspiring young minds in the city for many years. From City of Sheffield and Dearne AC club chairman, my former PE teacher, and probably the greatest athlete I ever watched train. A true legend and gentleman.

Yorkshireman who inspired Seb Coe to take up athletics won medal behind David Hemery in Mexico 1968, Commonwealth gold in 1970 and excelled in Superstars

A very good day at the Premier National Athletics League competition at Eton. Watching the enthusiasm and determination of our City of Sheffield and Dearne Athletes Club was most immeasurable and invigorating to see.
Immense Respect to everyone of our strong and Brave athletes who kept on rising to the challenge, 'bringing it on' with every muscular and mindful sinew. But then listening to their modest comments on their successes, absolutely sublime. Just to note a few examples but by no means exhaustive are ; 2 metres High Jumper, 2 first A&B Pole Vaulters with 21 points total. Almost a 54 metre Discus throw, Chuck Osammor along with his Shot Put earning 20 points for the team. Women's Hammer a total 13 points A&B. Men's 400 Hurdles 15 points total A&B. Men's 800 metres 16 points Total. Men's 100 metre Hurdles 11 points total.
But for me perhaps, the most commendable athlete score comes from the ' machine' by way of Joe Rowland, singularly earning 19 points alone with 5 events.👏👏👏. Suitably likewise supportive determination from Casey Musgrave 15 points and Caitlin Rimmer 12 points 3 events.👏👏👏👏👏👏. Looking forward to next match.😁
