"Don't moan about results you don't get for work you don't do"

GCSE results day for my Reggie Rayner.

We couldn't be prouder of the efforts he put in to achieve the results he needed. This now allows him full focus on his apprenticeship moving forward in September.

A lot like his parents school was never his biggest strength, BUT with the mindset he has forged he knows somethings in life you grind out and get done. He even went to the summer school and tutoring to get his grades up. Makes me proud just writing it.

We added in a little cash incentive (and I while I hate social media flexes involving money) this was an investment to us and something I recommend for anyone fortunate enough to be able to do. Marking this day as a celebration as special as he is.

What a young man he is shaping up to be. Dosent follow a crowd, understands the hustle and hardwork needed for life and most of all is the most kind-hearted loving boy you could wish for.

Remember if you didn't get the results you wanted it dosent define who you are or what you can become.

Working on all the technical adjustments we have made to our lads over the off season and its great to see them keeping that going into their spars.

Kent Squad Training Sunday.

Great to catch up with our team boxers Monday who had the opportunity to attend the Kent Squad training.

When you're building a coach/boxer relationship, it is important for the Boxers to have belief in what they are being told. It's huge for us here, we always welcome conversation and questions during technical drills and after sparring. This was solidified Sunday thanks to Lee Pullen the Boxers were convinced we had slipped a request to the Great Britain coach to echo the fudementals we focus on with them...be coachable!

Thanks to Harrison and TKO Folkestone for the hospitality and what a great start to kick stsrt the season.

Condition Sparring 'Sword and Shield'.

During these rounds, Boxers are only allowed to use the lead hand to punch (the sword), here, we are starting off with the jab only. Defence is only with back hand (the shield).

Great to have the boxers thinking and mixing up their attacks to set up the lead hand. Just as effective for the defence with the backhand, allowing them the opportunity to counter with their own lead hand shots.

In this clip we was on Jabs, only forcing more creativity with how to land it. Speed, power, angles levels, Faints, it all has to come into play really great to get the Boxers thinking. The defence can be upper body or slick footwork but rear hand only again forces the boxer to get creative to avoid shots and not to be predictable and repetitive with the defence.

New Training Time Table

For the first time since we have opened, we are dropping the Fridays to a Thursday. It's a decision made to benefit our team boxers allowing more recovery and making the the Friday easier for bouts, boxcups and time with family.

All times remain the same, just Thursday is the new Friday.
