Another important milestone is on the horizon for the Sheppey Healthy Living Centre, with essential works now underway to help power the new centre.

Temporary traffic management will be in place around Sheppey Leisure Centre from Tuesday 1st September until Tuesday 22nd September as essential works take place as part of Swale Borough Council’s Sheerness Revival project, funded by the UK Government.

We encourage customers to use Beach Street car park when visiting us. Parking refunds will be honoured — just bring your refund slip to reception.

Access to the leisure centre car park will be limited, with delays expected. Disabled access will be maintained wherever possible.

Members can also use Swallows Leisure Centre during this period.

The essential works enables the new power connection, which is needed to ensure we have more wattage going to the centre to run the new centre on the air source heat pumps, rather than requiring fossil fuel gas boilers. This means we will greatly improve our carbon footprint.

Thanks for your patience while these works help us take another exciting step towards powering up the new Sheppey Healthy Living Centre.

The progress on our Sheppey Healthy Living Centre is hitting an exciting milestone as we look to connect power up to our local substation to get the building energised ready to start powering an exciting future for our members.

To allow for these works to take place as part of Swale Borough Council's Sheerness Revival project funded by the UK Government, there will be a traffic management system in place from Tuesday 1st September until Tuesday 22nd September. We do expect these works to cause some disruption with temporary traffic management in the local area and so we’d ask our customers to allow for extra time to make it to the centre for their sessions.

We will make you aware of any further changes to access to the centre during this period and we thoroughly appreciate your patience as we install power to the centre.

The new service hatch and kitchen are being installed as
part of our expansion and refurbishment of the leisure centre in Beachfields! 🍦

Families will be able to enjoy refreshments, ice-cream and food without having
to leave the paddling pool area, thanks to the new service hatch which connects
to the new café inside the building. 😍



There will also be new toilets and seating for families who
visit the refurbished paddling pool next summer. 🏊



The improvements to the centre, including adventure play,
upgraded health facilities with dedicated space for Sheppey Matters and
state-of-the-art gym facilities, form part of Swale Borough Council’s
government funded Sheerness Revival project.💙
