Re-Post
We are on the look out for the right volunteer to take on our Matchday Reporter/Press Officer role vacancy to ease the burden on our other match day volunteers.

Do you love rugby and have a knack for telling a great story on a match day? We need someone to report on our 1st XV matches, writing engaging match reports for the Cornish Times and other local press/social media.

You’ll have support from dedicated supporters on days when you arent at the game, full match video footage to review if needed, and the satisfaction of sharing our club’s journey with the wider community. Some experience with writing and working to deadlines would be ideal, but by no means essential.

If this is you and a way of giving something back, drop us a message on Facebook for further information and discussion.

It's starting to build for our senior sides with almost a full programme of activity before the league season kicks off properly, with sides in action from Colts up to our 1st XV.

Saturday 12th September sees the Colts 🐎 in action as they meet St Austell for a 2pm KO at Chapel field.

The 1st XV are on the road at Plymstock Oaks against their counterparts on Saturday afternoon for a 4pm KO, although due to unavailability our 2nd team game is now off.

The Phoenixes kick off their campaign with a pre season friendly on Sunday 13th against Brixham also on Chapel Field for a 2.30pm kick off.

A successful run out for our 2nd XV overall, despite the collateral damage of losing influential centre Ollie Crawford to injury and prop Colm Rich departing the action with a minor injury.

The Ashes scored tries through Crawford, wing Tom Knight, Wing Carl Woods, Lock and player of the match Charlie Knight and centre Greg Eatwell with full back Henry Taylor adding 3 conversions and Archie Wood the other in a fine but hard fought victory.

Walking Rugby group continue this Friday.
6-7pm
At Moorlands Lane.
Bar open afterwards.

Walking rugby is a fast-growing, non-contact, and inclusive version of rugby played at a walking pace, designed for all ages and abilities to enjoy exercise and social interaction. It replaces tackles with a two-handed touch, focusing on passing, spatial awareness, and fun rather than physicality, making it ideal for injury recovery, fitness, or those new to the game.

Help Us Light Up the Pitch for Saltash Rugby Club!
For years, Saltash RFC has been the heart of our local community—a place where players of all ages come together to train, compete, and build lifelong friendships. But as the dark winter evenings roll in, our limited lighting leaves our teams struggling for pitch time, forcing us to cut sessions short or turn away enthusiastic players.

We are Re-launching this campaign to raise £16,000 to install modern, energy-efficient LED floodlights on our main pitch.

Why Your Support Matters:
Expanded Pitch Access: Allows our senior, junior, and women's teams to train safely all year round.

Lower Operating Costs: Upgrading to modern LEDs drastically reduces our energy bills, keeping the club financially sustainable.

Community Impact: Opens up our facilities for local schools, youth groups, and community events outside of regular training hours.

How You Can Help:
Every contribution brings us one step closer to flipping the switch.

Donate: No amount is too small—every pound makes a direct impact.

NB, this is a re-launch after previous campaign expired, if you donated previously, many thanks for your support.

Spread the Word: Share this campaign with friends, family, and local businesses on social media.

Together, we can ensure our players never have to train in the dark. Thank you for supporting the future of Saltash Rugby Club!

The preparation continues in what has been the longest pre-season in living memory.

Sadly Bideford pulled out of the planned fixture this weekend, so our focus is on our 2nd XV who visit Old Techs for a fixture at Foulston Park, Madden Road, Devonport near to the home of Plymouth Albion for a match on an artificial surface.

Kick off is planned for 4.30pm.
