Another top session this evening with other the U7-U10s. Attitude, commitment, determination were there for all to see. The quality of the activities is pushing to the next level.

Another brilliant Sporting Rugby FC Mini Ballerz yesterday with more new faces appearing. The first one in the rain and it didn't disappoint. Our new U7s teams will be graduating next weekend, and we can;t wait to see them start playing in their 3v3 teams, some great talent loading.

We're looking for new players to get involved Rugby Lions RFC on a Saturday morning, to keep building our special group.

Not every young footballer needs more pressure.

Sometimes they just need the right environment to learn.

That’s exactly why we created HSC Foundation.

Foundation is for young players who might be:

⚽ New to football
⚽ Still building confidence
⚽ Trying to improve their technique
⚽ Finding team football difficult
⚽ Or simply ready to learn the game properly

We work on the things that give players a platform to develop — lots of touches, movement, 1v1s, receiving, passing, decision-making and, most importantly, confidence with the ball.

There's no expectation that a child arrives as the finished article.

That's the point.

We coach the player in front of us and help them progress from there.

HSC Foundation runs at Rugby School Sports Centre, with groups for young players up to U14.

Your U8 isn’t a centre-back.

They’re eight.

At this age, I’d much rather see young players experience different positions, different problems and different parts of the game than be labelled too early as a “defender”, “striker” or “winger”.

Let them play at the back.
Let them play up front.
Let them receive under pressure.
Let them attack 1v1.
Let them make mistakes.

That’s how they start to understand the game.

Our job isn’t just to organise a team for Sunday.

It’s to help develop players who can think, adapt and make decisions for themselves.
