Stithians Lake in Cornwall is one of the windiest inland waters in England. So, it's not surprising that it is a favourite with windsurfers and sailors alike! We provide tuition, launch and hire for windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. New for 2021 we will be offering wingsurf and wingfoiling tuition. Stithians Watersports Centre is an RYA Recognised training centre so you

can be assured the windsurfing and sailing equipment and tuition are of a high standard. There is a campsite on site with great views out over the lake. Why not extend your stay and make the most of the activities available on site. Whether you are interested in watersports or simply wish to enjoy the views and wildlife whilst exploring the lake, there is something for everyone at Stithians. Company Overview
Stithians Lakes is managed by South West Lakes, the region’s largest combined environmental and recreational charity. Its inland water sites, spread across Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and West Somerset, attract in the region of 2m visits annually. Mission
The charity aims to provide education to the public about flora, fauna, ecology and the conservation of the vulnerable ecosystems that surround the lakes. Providing access to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities is a priority throughout our programs and activities.

4 Week Junior RYA Stage 1 Sail - 9.30am to 12pm

Sundays 4th and 11th October:

2 Day Adult RYA Level 1 Sail - 9.30am to 4pm

Monday to Friday 26th-30th October:

Junior RYA Stage 3 Sail - 9.30am to 12pm

🦎 Check out this fabulous entry from our 2025 Love Your Lakes Photography Competition!

Submitted to the Young Explorers category by Esmay Burley, it shows a common lizard at Fernworthy Reservoir.

On a sunny day, keep an eye out for these little creatures basking on rocks or stone walls around our grounds. But you have to be quick—they move fast!

Many of our South West Lakes Trust grounds offer prime seats for two amazing astronomical shows Wednesday evening! Catch the partial solar eclipse from around 6.15pm to 8pm and then the stunning Perseid meteor shower peak later into the night. ☄️

Pack a blanket, bring your eclipse glasses and spend a magical evening under the stars! 💫

School’s out, but nature’s in session 🦋🙌

Swap screen time for the great outdoors this summer! Our free wildlife surveys are the perfect way to get the whole family exploring the amazing nature around us.

Join us for a fun, hands-on dragonfly and butterfly survey day walking around our grounds.

If you are visiting us soon please be aware of low water and the deep mud around the lake currently.

⚠ Keep an eye out for signs around the lake
🚶 Stick to the paths, don't wander into the muddy shore areas
🥾 Bring old shoes if you’re going out on the water

Also please keep dogs on leads and away from the water’s edge – those with four legs can get stuck in mud too! 🐾
