One of A pair of tandems in for brakes, these had been set up poorly, new tandem rear brake cable fitted, calipers aligned and set up, new spring for the pads created, both working nicely now, the other tandem in for new brake units as awful floating calipers used! 😵‍💫

Road bike with gear issues rolled in recently, shifter working but not moving the mech's a quick look found the bottom bracket guide to be broken! Internet searching discovered UK store out of stock till 4th September (job in a fortnight ago), other stores will not ship to UK! So, some shed engineering underway! Measured the gap between the guide and bb tube, made a b**g, hot glue filled to make a mold, fit it all together and secure, interestingly, whilst searching the internet, I found an image of the same part on the owners forum, an almost identical failure to the one in my hand, even down to the small angles of the split! New cables run through and shifting snappy and precise again, brakes adjusted, full service carried out whilst in,
When the new parts arrive shall rebook it in and fit the new item with the shed modification for longevity!

Every so often, something rolls in that stops me in my tracks and makes me look at it! This was one of those bikes, it has a serious presence about it! Beautiful frame work, quality components, some serious gearing! Oh how far we have come in forms of technology and materials and modernisation, but oh my, we should go back to this ear!
