We had 378 people cross the line today, well done to you all! 👏

However we only handed out 377 tokens, and it's taken a while to figure out what we think happened and when it happened. 🕵️‍♂️

We've narrowed it down and we think we had a Funnel Ducker somewhere after position 350, but we can't be sure exactly where. So we've resubmitted our results, but if you think we've got iy wrong and have any info to help us pin it down further do let us know.

🩷🩷You'd look 𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗚 in pink!🩷🩷

If you'd like to try one of our lovely hi-viz vests on for size there really is no better time than this weekend.

We still need to fill a few crucial roles to make tomorrow's event happen, so we're looking for:

Marshal x3
Finish Token Support x1
Barcode Scanning x 1 (or 2)

All the roles are super simple and we can give you training on thr day.

We are a bit behind the curve for this week. However, it was worth the wait.

After last week's anomaly of no milestones, we had lots this week! Ten, to be precise!
Mathew, Sophie and Teigan reached their 25th run, 🟣
Lucy, Paul, and Virginia achieved their 50th run, 🔴
and Tony hit the 250 mark. 🟢

The milestones weren't limited to those completing the run this week. Three of our amazing volunteering crew also reached significant numbers too, congratulations to Sammy (10), Owen (25) and Peter (50).

☀️☀️☀️➡️🌧️
After weeks of heatwave after heatwave, the weather remembered that it’s supposed to rain in England on a Bank Holiday Weekend!

Still, 252 of you walked, jogged or ran your way around Reading parkrun this morning. Bravo to you all! 👏

We also had a few Reading Festival tourists joining us while they’re in town for the weekend. Hopefully the rain at parkrun helped prepare them for their return to the festival site. 😉

It was great to welcome the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Caversham Road Fire Station back again for another visit. 🚒

Having come along to meet and chat with everyone, they even let one lucky youngster have a go with the hose. We’re not saying that was the highlight of their morning, but it definitely looked fun! Huge thanks to the crew for joining us. Did you get a chance to chat to them?

One small results note: our Number Checker’s paperwork got very wet today. We’ve dried off and made our best estimates to get everyone’s result as accurate as possible. If yours doesn't look quite right, don't panic. Just email [email protected] with as much information as you can and we'll take a look.

🚨⚠️𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 ⚠️🚨

🎸𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝟵𝗔𝗠 𝗥𝗨𝗡 𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗕. 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬. 🎸

It’s Reading Festival weekend, so naturally we’ve put together a lineup of our own.

Headlining at Thames Valley Park: The 9AM Club, with support from Token Romance, First Timer, Little Victories and a whole load of other acts.

But this got us thinking...
What would YOUR parkrun band be called? 🤔

A favourite bit of the course? A regular occurrence? That one thing that always happens in the finish funnel?

We’ve already got Dogleg, Puddle Corner, Ian May, The Shipping Container and Tutu’s on the bill. Can you add to the lineup?

Real Rerading Festival-goers, if you’re in town this weekend, come and get your parkrun fix before the Saurday action kicks off. Our First Timers Welcome is at 8:50am, followed by the 5K at 9am.

Well, this is awkward.

When RD Mark got to the usual part of the briefing about junior 10s, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 and even 1,000 parkruns, during this week's run brief, he waited for the usual hands to go up.

But nothing. Not a single one. There were even a few sniggers of disbelief from the crowd, because surely someone must have forgotten, right? Nope.

When we processed the results, there wasn't even the usual one or two people who hadn't realised they'd reached a milestone.

We genuinely can't remember the last time Reading parkrun had a week without a single official milestone.

The closest we got was RD Mark himself, who clocked up 150 volunteer occasions. Which is definitely worth a mention, even if parkrun hasn't produced a shiny T-shirt for it.

So unofficial congratulations to Mark, and to everyone who came along and ran, walked, jogged, volunteered or cheered this week.

As for the rest of you... get counting. We'll be expecting some hands in the air next Saturday. 😄

Well done to the 322 participants who walked, jogged or ran their way around Reading parkrun this morning! 👏

And a special mention to those who turned up in tutus. 🩰 We should probably point out that today being the 22nd of the month is the reason for the tutus.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Tutu's Ethiopian Table, our post-parkrun café.

Nothing.

Pure coincidence.

Honestly. 😇

Whatever you wore, however you got around, and however quickly or slowly you did it, we hope you enjoyed your Saturday morning with us.
