Absolutely stunning Hambleden and Pheasant's Hill this morning. 🍂🍁This walk was a real belter - good for the soul and those hills and undulating footpaths gave us a really great workout. Thank you to the fab team at Hambleden Village Stores for serving us really delicious coffee, toasties, sausage rolls and cakes while we sat in the autumn sunshine, relaxing, refuelling and soaking it all in. 🧡🤎😊 Chilterns National Landscape

On our recce of tomorrow's Hambleden route we spotted at least 9,000 pheasants, deer, a flying squirrel (yes, really!) mushrooms, a family of pumpkins, an impromptu seating area in the middle of nowhere and a very informative sign. 👀 Unbelievably there were FIVE trees down, over the footpaths, but all are safely negotiated - just one of the reasons to walk with us Walk Works we ALWAYS check and risk assess our routes beforehand. Hambleden - Friday 30th October, 9.30am
8km / 4.8 miles / 2 hours 15 with pause points along the way.

This sensational route takes in the iconic 17th century brick and flint cottages, 12th century medieval church, St Mary The Virgin before heading up through the woodland with incredible views of the changing autumnal landscape.

Featuring deer, hundreds of pheasants, beech woods, farm tracks, sweeping views, huge ferns and orchards with plums, pears, apples and cherry trees.

Beautiful Hambleden has a rich cinematic history too, being the location for numerous big hit film and TV productions including 101 Dalmations, The Avengers, Sleepy Hollow and Midsomer Murders, to name a few!

Finishing at Hambleden Village Stores which serves delicious cakes and pastries, sausage rolls, soups and hot drinks.

🍄All this rain is good for the mushrooms🍄 - and the trees, the moss, the soil and for our wildlife, especially after such a long dry summer. Friday 16th October, 9.30am 🍂 Wokefield Common, Mortimer.

Come and explore Wokefield Common, a peaceful 148 acre woodland and nature reserve featuring a mix of tall pine trees and typical berkshire woodlands, heathland, gnarly tree roots and ponds, popular with wildlife.

This circular route is South West of Reading and features part of the St. James' Way, Mortimer, Burfield and The Englefield Estate.

3.8 miles / 6km of glorious Berkshire Countryside

3 gentle hills (undulations!)

1 hour 20 minutes total walking time
