I could not let this pass without sharing a celebration of 30 yrs , once upon a time , many years ago 🙂 open water was a unique thing in weymouth , but today we see many people swimming and enjoying the sea which is amazing and also achieving great things..
The special people in this post , some no longer with us sadly , but will never be forgotten and truly made a huge impression on swimmers lives forever in weymouth and many other places in the UK and abroad. This involved teaching , coaching , friendships and just believing in your abilities.
This was our English Channel Relay team 8th July 1996 when we raised a lot of money for Breakthrough, a Breast Cancer charity.
The second picture was last week celebrating 30yrs since our success.
Phil Gallop(multiple channel swimmer of 60 yrs ago, correct me if i am wrong ) and Brian Hunt came along and had so much to share about the swimming history and open water in the area. They should write a book ?
I am truly grateful for knowing all these special people in this post.
