Yes! We include everyone in our sessions

We know that not every team has the ability to cater for a wide range of disabilities, leaving some feeling left out of sessions

But our amazing coach, Alana, has many years of experience in coaching wheelchair sports and ensuring everyone feels included

No matter your age, gender, ability, or disability, you're part of the team and part of the session

Nope!

You can come to one of our sessions with no prior interest in sport whatsoever - we don't judge

You don't need to know that we use a slightly deflated size 4 rugby ball

You don't need to know that you should stay upright in a chair (even our most experienced team member still struggles with that bit 😅 )

You don't even need to know how to push a wheelchair

We take you through all the basics and slowly build you up

There's no need for you to watch previous games and study techniques before joining us

Just bring yourself and some enthusiasm

🚨 Red Alert 🚨

The Welsh squad has lost one of its main sponsors for the World Cup!

Without this sponsorship players may not be able to represent their country for the world to see

If you are able to give anything to help, please do

🤞 Fingers crossed they're able to raise the funds needed

Cymru rise up, back our Wales Rugby League (WRL) Wheelchair team. We lost our World Cup shirt sponsor so need 10k Welsh fans to donate £1!

We were excited to welcome some special guests to our training last night. Not just any guests, but heroes 👨‍🚒

Over the last few weeks Wales has battled wildfires, resulting in crews being called in from Manchester, London and even the military.

When we found out London Fire Brigade were at our venue, we invited them to join us, and they couldn't resist the offer to come and give wheelchair rugby league a go for themselves.

A very warm welcome was given to Chloe and Will who put their pushing and rugby skills to the test. And, we think we may have got them hooked 😉

From all of us at Cardiff Blue Dragons, a massive THANK YOU for all your hard work helping to keep everyone safe

Disabled individuals are twice as likely to be physically inactive compared to those without a disability 😱

We understand that sport isn't one-size-fits-all, but wheelchair rugby league tries hard to reduce as many barriers as possible

As long as you can propel yourself in a sports chair, wheelchair rugby league is the sport for you

All ages welcome

All genders welcome

All abilities welcome

All disabilities welcome

We're all on the same team!

150 minutes a week

That's how much exercise adults should be getting, according to the Department of Health

What they mean by this is getting warmer and breathing harder!

Does this target change if you're disabled? Nope

Although you may feel limited in the sports you think you can take part in, your physical health is still important

And that's where wheelchair Rugby League can come in!

It's Rugby League; it makes you breathe harder; it makes you sweat; it's in a wheelchair. What more could you want?

Here at Cardiff Blue Dragons, we train for 2 hours a week; that's already 120 minutes of your 150 minute target!

If you want to see what wheelchair Rugby League is all about, come along on Friday

We're at USW Sports Centre, Treforest from 6pm until 8pm, everybody is welcome!

Congratulations to our very own Jess Booth & Lee Sargent in being named in the initial training squad for the World Cup!...
