💥 MASSIVE well done everyone today! 💥

Honestly, one of the best games I’ve seen them play so far. So much to be proud of!

The subs all came on and made an impact, everyone worked for each other, rotated well, and you can really see the team starting to understand what we’re trying to achieve.

We tried a different formation today and I genuinely think it worked. There’s still plenty to learn, but today showed we’re heading in the right direction. 👌🏼

The opposition were a very good test, and I thought we more than matched them. We were unlucky not to come away with a draw and could arguably have won it. We created plenty of chances through some really good team play — now we just need to find the back of the net! ⚽️

Defended as a unit, attacked as a unit, played some great football and showed plenty of character when we needed to dig in. That mentality is massive.

Really solid performance in a more defensive role. Made some great challenges, stayed composed and gave everything for the team. Thoroughly deserved! 👏🏼

⭐ PLAYER OF THE MATCH – CASH

Some fantastic saves today, but his overall game was what impressed me most. Great distribution, calm and composed, and really listened to the coaching. Massive improvement, mate — keep it going! 🧤👏🏼

❤️ Most importantly, it was brilliant seeing everyone enjoying themselves together afterwards. That team spirit is so important.

Lots of positives to take from today. Keep working, keep listening and keep believing — the goals and results will come!

⚽️ SUN U13 | Pelican Colts 1–4 ZEFC 💙⚽️

An away fixture today for a league friendly against Pelican Colts.

We started strong 💪, controlling possession well and moving the ball around with purpose. The opposition weren’t going to make it easy, defending well against some stunning through balls from Rio, Sam and Dylan, which gave Marcel and Markas plenty of opportunities to cause chaos down the wings! 🔥

Our pressure paid off when another brilliant ball from Sam found Markas, who calmly fired home to give us a 1–0 lead! ⚽️🙌

The next 15 minutes brought plenty of physicality from both teams. A trip on Lona by the keeper went without a foul 🤔🙄, and Lona’s frustration in retaliation unfortunately resulted in a yellow card and a sin bin. 🟨

Captain Rio stepped up brilliantly, making positional changes to help us defend while still giving us an outlet through Sam up front. The team responded incredibly well, limiting the opposition’s chances despite being a player down. 👏💪

Once Lona returned, we went back to our normal positions and the game continued to be end-to-end. A rocket of a shot from Pelican Colts brought them level at 1–1. 🚀

Sam then produced a fantastic tackle to deny their striker in a one-on-one with keeper Noah, keeping us in the game. 🛡️👏

⏱️ Half-time: 1–1

After regrouping, we came out for the second half determined to regain control. Some questionable handball decisions only fired the team up further! 🔥

Another ball brilliantly won and cleared by Sam eventually led to our second goal, with Markas finding the net again! ⚽️⚽️

We continued to attack with real intent, creating chance after chance. Lillia then played an amazing ball across the box for Lona to tap home and make it 3–1! 👏⚽️

A fantastic corner from Rio caused more problems, and after the keeper’s save bounced away, Archie was on hand to fire home our fourth! ⚽️💥

Still a few areas for us to work on, but overall a fantastic team performance. Lots of positives to take away today — teamwork, communication, desire, cooperation and resilience. 💙👏

What a game! 🔥👏

A great run out for the lads today, who played some fantastic football as a team and linked up brilliantly from the start. 💙⚽️

Everything seemed to be going right, but we just couldn’t find that finishing touch! 😩 We hit the bar, their keeper pulled off some great saves, but eventually we were rewarded with a penalty, which Leo converted brilliantly. 🎯⚽️

The second half was a complete goal fest! 🤯🔥

We found ourselves 3️⃣-0️⃣ up after two tidy team goals. Charlie played Bobby through, who ran from the halfway line and calmly finished. 👌⚽️

Bobby then grabbed his second after Frankie unselfishly found him, giving us a 3-goal cushion. 🙌

Meden Vale upped their game and piled the pressure on, causing us to panic a little. We gave away a free kick which was rifled into the net. 💥

They pulled another one back after we failed to take the simple defensive option. 😬

But Bobby completed his hat-trick after another brilliant assist from Charlie! ⚽️⚽️⚽️🔥

Unfortunately, we again switched off defensively and conceded twice more, making it a very nervy finish! 😰

But the lads never stopped fighting 💪💙 and eventually pulled back in front late on with another brilliant team goal. Charlie tapped in at the back post after a fantastic assist from Frankie! 👏⚽️

What a performance from this team today! 👏

A fantastic result against a well-established, high-level opponent, but more importantly, a performance that showed exactly what this team is capable of.

The work rate was unbelievable today. The press that was missing last week was definitely there, and it made a huge difference. As soon as we lost the ball, we hunted in packs to win it back.

The effort to track back and do the hard work was a real pleasure to see — especially without us having to ask for it. Seeing players sprint the length of the pitch to defend when we’re 4-0 up with two minutes to go says everything about the attitude and commitment of this group. 👏

With the ball, we were comfortable and played some really good football. The movement off the ball was excellent, we created some fantastic clear-cut chances and, on another day, we could easily have scored another 4 or 5.

Defensively, we were very strong and it was great to get a clean sheet. We limited Mapperley to very little threat, while the football we played out from the back was excellent. It helped drag the opposition out and created more space for us in midfield and attack.

Every player was superb today. Everyone did exactly what was asked of them,and more at times. It’s fantastic to see them reaching the high standards we set for ourselves and, most importantly, working so hard for each other.

I genuinely feel this team is going to get stronger and stronger the more we train and play together.

There’s definitely more to come from this group! 💪⚽️

Great to have the players back after the family and school holidays. 👏⚽️

Tonight’s focus was all about off-the-ball movement ,creating space, making purposeful runs, supporting teammates and staying constantly involved in the game.

The objective was simple: don’t stand and watch ,move, scan, create and be available. 🔄🧠

We challenged the players to understand when, where and why to make their movements, helping them become more effective both individually and within the team. 💪⚽️

Another brilliant day at camp today! 🙌 It was fantastic to see some new faces joining us, and we’re already looking forward to our October Half Term Camp! 🍂⚽

🔥 STREET STRIKER COMPETITION 🔥

Today we mixed things up with our very own Street Striker competition! The players took on a range of fun challenges, including:

🎯 Chipping over road barriers
🗑️ Lobbing the ball into bins
🏀 Chipping into baskets
🥅 Shooting through gate gaps
🧱 rebounding off walls into goals

Something a little different,and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! 😍👏
