Finals Day Refwatch 😍

We’ve got a big set of games planned for tomorrow! Good luck to all our teams in charge of the NLD Finals tomorrow. The finals day marks not just the culmination of our teams’ hard work, but also the endeavour of our match officials who work hard throughout the year to get appointed to these games.

Men’s Cup Final: Mike Gray - Level 5 Referee and Information and Communication Officer for the society

Women’s Cup Final: Faye Watson - Level 7 Referee and AMOA graduate

Men’s Plate Final: Greg Hodgson - Level 6 Referee and former member of Training and Appointments Committees

Men’s Bowl Final: Harry Singleton - Level 8 Referee and member of Members Services Committee

Martyn Thomas 1944-2026.

It is with sadness that the death of Martyn has been announced, his funeral having taken place in Wales. Martyn was a farmer who was a member and also served as chairman of NLD Refs. He became the CB rep for NLD at the RFU. He was involved in the discussion and negotiations when the game became professional. He was also a leading figure in securing England's hosting of the 2015 World Cup. He was recognised by Sir Bill Beaumont who paid his respects on the RFU website.

Our thoughts are with his family.

It’s the business end of the season 🔥

🏟️A great lineup of big games this week for our NLD Referees. Big shout out to Gwilym who leads a team of four on exchange to Staffordshire for a County Championship Match, go well team!

📣 We also have some of our NLD cup finals this week with the NLD Shield, NLD Plate and Junior plate. We’ve also got the women’s Senior shield as well, all being hosted at Ashfield!

Not long now till we blew full time on 25/26!

📣THE END OF THE SEASON IS NEAR!

After the regular league season wrapped up last weekend we have just a few league games to wrap up and some cup games to referee. Good luck to our Saturday team of three who are in charge of the promotion play off to regional 1! Aother one of our finals days on Sunday with a cracking group of referees taking charge at Boston, who will be hosting the U13 edition of the NLD finals.

Keep your eyes peeled though as we’ll be announcing promotions, cup final appointments and keeping you posted on off-season/ pre-season plans!

Promotion News 🥳

Congratulations to Faye Watson who has been promoted to Level 7. After showcasing her ability across a number of level 7 games this year and thriving in her work with the RFU, Faye has been promoted. We look forward to seeing her involved in the RFU U18 Community Finals this weekend at Sixways stadium, Worcester. Go well Faye and congratulations!

Another month, another training session. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at Lincoln RFC on Thursday for a society training session. This month’s session is focussing on the scrum and the outdoor session will be led by bronco king James Herbert!
