Our second round of Junior Pro Karts…. This weekend we head to Shenington Kart Racing Club after a strong debut at Fulbeck Kart Club last time out.

It’s been a while since I’ve raced at Shenington but I am excited for some good racing with new friends and catching up with my old Honda Cadet friends.

With the support of the amazing team 🇬🇧FSR HAASE🇮🇹 and our freshly serviced Venom Race Engines… Let’s see if we can convert pace into results.🚀

🏆Pole on my junior pro kart debut 🏆

What an amazing debut to my Junior Pro Kart journey.

Got fitted for the kart Thursday evening ready to hit the track for testing on Friday morning.

From the start the kart felt balanced and lap times came easy. Can’t recommend the 🇬🇧FSR HAASE🇮🇹 chassis enough… mega piece of kit.

On to Saturday hitting the track with 26 drivers in a kart much bigger and heavier than i’m used to was a little scary. The pace stayed strong and I started to feel more confident on track.

We entered Quali and through the full session every time I got a clear lap I put in a mega lap time. The final lap put me over 2 tenths clear of second place and secured pole.

Sunday

Heat 1 -

poor start (getting used to standing start in pro kart) but managed to finish P4

Heat 2 -

poor start another poor start but managed to finish P3

Heat 3 -

Finished P4

I played it overly safe during the heats and sat behind drivers for too long rather than over taking. However, the consistency got me starting the Final P2

Final -

Had a decent start but got caught behind a driver and left first corner P4.

Whilst struggling to get past P3 I made a mistake leaving the door open allowing P5&6 to dive down the inside. This left me nowhere to go and I ended up in the wall with a bent kart and a trip to medics with a sprained wrist.

Absolutely gutted about the Final but what an amazing weekend.

Overwhelmed by the amount of people supporting and cheering us on over the weekend including my old Honda Cadet friends.

First race weekend in Junior Pro Kart. The 🇬🇧FSR HAASE🇮🇹 kart feels amazing and as always the Venom Race Engines engine are on fire (especially with the new gold stickers 😂)

Had great pace through practice sessions so entered quali feeling confident. My first ever Pro kart quali and managed to put it on pole!

Awesome pace shown by my team mate Archie Edgar Racing , looking forward to seeing how many places he can make up tomorrow.

-BLACK BELT ACHIEVED-
Along side racing, I have been Kickboxing for a few years now. After years of hard work and dedication I passed my black belt grading in July. Last night I was presented with my black belt. Huge thank you to Coach Matt and Coach Sim Shahi for all your support. Now the real work starts 💪🏼

END OF A CHAPTER🥹

Rounds 5&6 of the Wera Tools British Kart Championships at PFi Karting was our final race in Honda cadets. Determined to end on a high I gave it my all in Quali 1. With just 38 seconds left I was on pole. Catching traffic last lap dropped me to P6 out of 31 of the best drivers in the country…. Absolutely amazing start!

Sadly it quickly went down hill for the rest of the weekend. Just like the last rounds of The British Championship we got hit with so much bad luck… Hit off track at every opportunity, Extremely questionable penalties, Damaged kart components meaning we missed races and even a trip to the medics.

So once again an awful race weekend but I can hold my head high knowing I had pace.

The Honda cadet community is amazing and we have met some amazing people and have made life long friends. We are sad to be leaving earlier than we wanted but the truth is we have simply outgrown the kart.

Mixed feelings about this weekend…

After ending up with an unexpected free weekend we decided to try Kimbolton, after hearing great things about the place and how it’s ran.

Hit the track for the first time Saturday morning and immediately loved the track. So much fun and suits my driving style. Within a few test session I was on pace with the regulars that are fighting for the championship.

Unfortunately Race day tells a different story. I feel like i’ve spent the day driving around with a target on my back. Some of the lowest standard of racing i’ve experienced. Literally taken out EVERY heat! When I tried to raise this with the stewards was told nothing can be reviewed as the CCTV is down… Not ideal! Lack of penalties was shocking.

After being taken out In all the heats I managed to fight back through the pack on every heat meaning I started Final P6. Unfortunately the final was no different. A driver turned in on me causing me to spin… again no penalties.
