⚽⚡️Another good session at Rise last night.

I’ve enjoyed seeing the confidence growing in the players. Some of the skills we started working on a few weeks ago are starting to become second nature now and it’s great seeing the boys trying things they’ve never done before.

We also had another new player join us this week who settled in really well and got stuck straight in 👍

That’s what Rise is about, helping players improve, enjoy their football and build confidence along the way ⚽

⚽⚡️Coaching is back tomorrow 👍

Whether your child already plays football or is completely new to the game, they’re welcome to come along and get involved.

Sessions running every Tuesday in Maidstone:

⚽ Foundation Group (U6-U8)
4:30pm–5:30pm

⚽ Development Group (U9-U12)
5:30pm–6:30pm

The focus is on developing confidence, improving football skills and most importantly enjoying the game 👍⚽

⚽ One thing coaching has taught me is that sometimes you have to make decisions with the information you have at the time.

This week we had thunderstorms, lightning and some very unpredictable weather. In the end I decided to cancel the session for safety reasons.

As it turned out, the weather improved later on, but I’d always rather make the cautious decision when young players are involved 👍

⚽⚡️Looking forward to being back coaching on Tuesday 👍

One thing I’ve learnt over the last few months is that no two sessions are ever the same. Sometimes you have loads of players, sometimes a few are away, sometimes the weather has other ideas ☀️😂

The aim is always the same though, make sure the players enjoy themselves, get plenty of touches on the ball and leave having learnt something.

⚽⚡️One thing I always encourage at coaching is for players to try things.

Whether it comes off or not doesn’t really matter.

Trying a new skill or taking a progressive risk, making a mistake and trying again is how players improve.

It’s easy for young players to play safe all the time, but confidence comes from being brave enough to have a go 👍⚽

⚽ Really pleased with the sessions last night 👍

With the heat we kept things a bit more relaxed and worked in the shade where we could ☀️

Some really positive signs though. Passing and decision making in the games is definitely improving and it’s good seeing the players growing in confidence week by week 🙌

A few of the boys are now pulling off rainbow flicks as well which they were buzzing about 😅⚽🌈
