What you do outside the studio matters just as much as what you do on the Reformer.

Pilates helps you build strength, control, and body awareness but nutrition is what supports recovery, energy, and progress.

Think about:
– Eating enough to fuel your sessions properly

Myth: You need to sweat to see results 💭

Reformer Pilates challenges that idea completely.

Just because you’re not dripping in sweat doesn’t mean you’re not working. In fact, some of the most effective work happens in slow, controlled, precise movement.

On the Reformer, it’s about:
– Time under tension
– Control over momentum
– Deep muscle activation (especially core + stabilisers)
– Quality of movement over quantity

You might leave class feeling worked, not wrecked and that’s the point.

Results don’t come from how sweaty you get…

Neck tension & shoulder positioning on the Reformer 🤍

If you’re constantly feeling it in your neck… it’s usually not a “strength” issue it’s a positioning one.

Things to watch for:

– Shoulders creeping up towards your ears
– Gripping through the neck instead of supporting through the upper back
– Losing connection to your lats and mid-back muscles
– Letting the head and neck take over the work

In Reformer Pilates, your shoulders should feel heavy and anchored, with space around the neck - not tension.

Think:
✨ Collarbones wide
✨ Shoulder blades gently sliding down the back
✨ Effort coming from your centre, not your neck

The goal isn’t to “push through” the tensio, it’s to move smarter so the right muscles do the work.
