Senior Result.....

For the last time in the 25/26 season, Goole welcomed a side to Westfield Banks. Old Rishworthian made the trip over from West Yorkshire, with bragging rights secured in the reverse fixture earlier in 2026 - however, the men from Halifax faced a much stearner test than they did on their own patch!

Goole ended up running out comfortable winners with trys scored all over the park by both the forwards and the backline.

The Breathe Manor Farm Player of the Match was awarded to Captain Rhys Moore who had his best game in Goole colours this season!

With two fixtures left this season, Goole will look to be solidifying their place in the Counties 1 table next week against Wensleydale before facing off with Yarnbury in the last game of the season!

Thanks to all who have supported all our Goole sides this year, in both the Senior and Junior sections! We hope to see you all back at Westfield Bank next season

Team Announcements....

The 1st XV welcome Keighley to Westfield Banks today in Counties 1 (Yorkshire) action. With Wath & Dinnington looking like they cannot be caught, this game is incredibly important for deciding the "best of the rest" with Keighley, Goole and Yarnbury contesting for the bronze medal! Head Coach Greg Bone has named a strong squad today albeit with a few enforced changes. Join us for a 3pm kick off, with both bars open both upstairs and outside!

The 2nd XV make the trip over the county border to face Scunthorpe in the Eastern Merit Table. The 2nd XV will want to improve on their performance last week and will hope that close loss against Hullensians blew off the cobwebs after a long period of no games! All travelling support is welcome - Kick Off is 3pm

Come cheer on your senior sides to victory!

The 2nd XV face Hullensians 3rd XV in the Eastern Merit Table, with both sides looking to improve on their current points tally. Games between these two sides have been nip and tuck! Join us at Westfield Banks for a 3pm kick off

Senior Results....

A few games to update you on as we have had trouble getting onto the account recently (Cheers Zuckerberg....)

Wednesday 18th February..... Goole vs Wath (H)..... An agonising semi final loss in the Yorkshire Challenge Shield sees Goole's quest for silverware in the 2025/26 season come to an end! Some strong performances in the pack complemented by some strong carried in the backline saw Goole come close but were too strong. We wish the South Yorkshiremen the best of luck in the final in April. The Breathe Manor Farm Player of the Match was centre Declan Cook who carried hard and made some crucial tackles in a truelly herculean performance.

Saturday 21st February..... Goole vs Old Rish (A).... Tiredness kills (well it certainly did for our league chances in this game!). The impact of playing 2 games in the space of 4 days was evident at Copley Road where Goole's lacklustre performance saw pick up a vital victory. Going into the game, Goole knew that Rish are a different beast at home and they had already taken some major scalps this season, but knowing about it and doing something about it are two different things! The efforts of the Goole players cannot be questioned but their bodies just couldn't sustain the levels demanded after such a tough fixture only a few days before. The was Charlie Walton who lead from the front and kept showing what Goole has been missing during his injury enforced absence earlier in the year.

Saturday 28th February.... Goole vs Wath (H)... 3 from 3 (but not the sort we wanted)... Goole travelled to high flying Wath looking to avenge their cup loss from he week before. A small and boggy pitch was played on with all the rain we have had recently and Wath used this to their advantage, keeping the ball tight and forwards dominated. Goole tried hard to break a resilient Wath defence, but only the returning Raymond Coates was able to make his way over the white wash. Another good team performance but still looking that cutting edge when breaking down the strongest of defences. The Breathe Manor Farm Player of the Match was once again Declan Cook for his continued high work rate!

Team Announcement...

Back to league action this weekend as the 1st XV travel to Halifax to face in a rearranged fixture from January.

After disappointment on Wednesday in the Yorkshire Challenge Shield, Goole will be looking to bounce back against Rish to keep the pressure on the top two in Counties 1 (Yorkshire).

Rish have had a difficult season so far, laying towards the bottom of the league (particularly when playing away from home); however, their home form is much better and have surprise a number of team who travelled to West Yorkshire! Will Goole become another scalp at Copley Road or will the East Yorkshiremen have too much?

Kick Off is 14.15 and all travelling support will be welcome!

Best of luck to all players, coaches and officials who are involved in rugby across the county today!

Our U12s would like to extend their sincere thanks to CepacLtd of Rawcliffe Bridge who sponsored their new match ball for the game against Pontefract RUFC. It's fantastic to see local buisnesses support local junior sport, particularly two clubs within the company's area! Thanks to Derwin Martin for making this possible! We look forward to welcoming you down to Westfield Banks again in the future πŸ‘
