Will you be at Medicine Festival?

You are invited to come and lay your exhausted body down and let a yoga nidra transport you to deep rest. Look for the yurt at location 24.

I'm honoured to be part of the team delivering a yoga nidra every hour on the hour - on Thursday 2pm till 6pm
Fri, Sat, Sun 8am till 6pm.

Can't wait to see you there!

No anatomy this time because I've been busy doing other things.

This is one of them.

The end result of attending the Sacred Geometry of the Chakras course at the SAOG studios in Forest Row. With gratitude to Daniel and Vija who teach and guide and encourage so warmly and generously.

Each one hand drawn with a compass and one straight line. Colours are mostly made by Vija from stones and clays and local egg yolk. The fancy irridescent ones were bought.

The Sanskrit in the centres are the relevant seed sounds for each chakra.

A privilege to present this spine at the recent Fascia focused dissection course in Cremona.
Extraordinary to be amongst such titans in this field.

(who commissioned this particular model)

flannigan
and all the participants. The learning goes on and on.

This is not AI.
It also is not an accurate model. Our muscles do not go through holes drilled in our bones and then twist round themselves to keep in place.

However it shows things such as movement and the juxtaposition of muscles in a way which makes it easier to understand than conventional models or illustrations.

Spine completed and delivered to the awesome

We then took it to the Fascia focused dissection course at the Trecchi Human Lab in Cremona, Italy where we presented it to this year's cohort.

Gratitude to , flannigan

and
for all their guidance, information and encouragement.

Thanks also to the lab team who supported us so well.

The spine had its own adventure too but that will be in another post.

Neck to tail. Each length of wire indicates the directional pull of a muscle. Quite easy to see in the sacral/ lumbar region, but around the cervical vertebrae it's a layering of multiple muscle groups. Each colour wire is a different muscle group, e.g. semi-spinalis or multifidus or splenius.

On the 'operating table' - now focusing on the anterior of the spine, especially now it's acquired an occiput.

The drill is needed for extra holes - the addition of an occiput has required not only 22 holes in the actual occiput (so far) but also a whole raft of holes in the cervical and thoracic vertebrae.

These metal wires indicate (approximately) the layer upon layer of muscles allowing the spine to move elegantly, vertebra by vertebra.

Silver sun behind silver birches.
The view from my window this morning.
Stunningly beautiful. A moment in time before the sun burns off the mist and the trees get their leaves.

Hello Spring!

This burst of joy opened to the sun this morning.

A tulip, possibly an alpine.
One of you might know?

What I know is I bought a bag of end-of-line tulip bulbs which are all showing early leaves, but this one raced ahead all on its own. Love it! What joy. 🥰💖
