The FA has announced the 12 teams that will be in the London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Division One North.

Clapton CFC Women’s First Team remain in the division alongside Camden Town, Actonians Reserves, AFC Greenwich Borough, Dulwich Hamlet Reserves, Herne Bay and Hackney.

Joining us via relegation from the division above will be Sport London e Benfica and Ebbsfleet United along with promoted sides Carshalton Athletic, Maidstone United and Tooting Bec.

That means we will face three new teams in total in Ebbsfleet, Carshalton and Maidstone.

Exiting the division are Hammersmith and Bromley (promoted), Soccer Elite Football Academy and Richmond & Kew (relegated) and Ashford United (lateral move to the LSERWFL Division One South).

A potential East London derby with Leyton Orient after their promotion has not materialised. They have been placed in the neighbouring Eastern Region Women's Football League Division One South instead.

Full list in the photo – green means promoted into the division and red means relegated into the division.

It was another season to remember for this little fan-owned football club of ours. We won six trophies!

⚽️ The Clapton Cageys 5-a-side team won the Super5’s Division 5 League title
⚽️ The Men’s Development Team won the Inner London Football League’s Summer League’s First Division
⚽️ The club as a whole won the Non-League Game Award at the Football v Homophobia Awards
⚽️ The Men’s First Team won the Eastern Counties League Division One South play-offs
⚽️ The Women/NB Development won the London Saturday Women’s Football League Plate
⚽️ The FTFA Team won the London Saturday Women’s Football League Cup

There were more awards than ever handed out at our end of season awards ceremony at the Old Spotted Dog Ground on Saturday.

That’s partly because we added three new teams – the Clapton Comets 5-a-side team, the Men’s Over 35s and the FTFA Team.

See the link for all the awards winners.

It was another season to remember for this little fan-owned football club of ours. We won seven trophies!

End of season awards this Saturday!

Our awards ceremony for all our adult teams will take place on Saturday, May 23 at the Old Spotted Dog Ground Clubhouse.

All members, supporters, players, coaches, friends and family are welcome to pay homage to players and coaches who have created another incredible season.

We’ll find out who has won the supporters’ players of the season and young players of the season for both our Women’s First Team and Men’s First Team now the votes have been cast.

But that’s not all – in total we will be handing out 67 awards plus medals to players 50, 100 and 150 appearances – and a few extra honours.

Doors and bar will open at 2pm for a 2.30pm start.

* At a tournament at the Old Spotted Dog Ground last week, players from DOST based at Newham Leisure Centre had to borrow and share boots as they didn’t have any. Does anyone have any spare boots? Please bring to the awards if you can.

The FA has today announced that Clapton CFC Men’s First Team will play in the Essex Senior League after our promotion to Step 5.

The allocation of which club will play in which division across the men’s non-league football pyramid was released today and CCFC are due to be in a 20-team division.

There are mouth-watering East London derbies in store against Barking, Frenford, Ilford, Romford, Soul Tower Hamlets, Sporting Bengal United, West Essex and Woodford Town.

Further afield, there will be trips into Essex to play Basildon United, Benfleet, Great Wakering Rovers and their ground sharers White Ensign, Hackney Wick (in Witham), Halstead Town, Harwich & Parkeston, Heybridge Swifts, Hullbridge Sports, Hutton and Saffron Walden Town.

The list is subject to appeal but we can confirm that the Men’s First Team committee won’t be appealing for the first time in three seasons!

Geoff Ocran’s team will also enter the Men’s FA Cup for the first time, hoping to match some of our Women’s First Team’s heroics in the Women’s FA Cup.

Unlike our promotion from Step 7 to 6, the ground grading for Step 5 needs to be attained by the end of March 2027, rather than before the season starts.

Full list in the photo - green means promoted into the division, red means relegated into the division and pink means reprieved from relegation.
