Our next boardroom breakfast will be on 6 October at the very cool Epic Centre in Paignton.

A centre for technology & innovation, it seemed like the perfect place to bring senior business leaders together to discuss today's challenges & find tomorrow's solutions.

Carefully curated.

Intentionally intimate.

Entirely confidential.

These roundtables are an exclusive opportunity to connect with other senior leaders, talk about what really goes on behind the boardroom door & explore ways to support each other.

Because the higher up you go, the less access you have to rooms like this.

Rooms you can be open in.

With peers who challenge your thinking.

And opportunities to combine forces & make even more impact.

So many collaborations came from our last roundtable & the feedback was that it was a different calibre of conversation.

📩 If you would like to be in the room, message me & I will send you the link to apply.

There's no cost to attend.

Matt West (Business Development Manager Allica Bank) & I both work with leaders & see how lonely leadership can be.

So our aim with these roundtables is to bring our networks together to change that.

And because we can make far more IMPACT together than we can on our own.

Nobody teaches you how to be a boss.

That was the topic of my conversation with the lovely Kate Williams for her fabulous podcast The Agency Diaries (which is definitely worth checking out, very real conversations with very cool people) 🎙

We talked about everything from feeling like you are on your own as a leader to how you shift from being a 'doer' to a 'leader'.

And every leaders biggest struggle, having difficult conversations 🥴

Kate & I regularly chat about this stuff on our coffee dates & beach walks.

So we decided to open up our girl date chat to the world to hopefully help other leaders out there who struggle with the same things.

Because it's important to have these conversations.

And to have them publicly.

People are the heart of every business yet I hear from leaders all the time that they find leading them the hardest part.

But you wouldn't know that because there aren't many places where leaders can actually say this openly.

So we said it.

We also shared our own experiences of leading businesses & I shared some of the work I do with global leaders.

Our hope being that by sharing this you will finish the episode breathing a sigh of relief that you are not the only one who finds this stuff hard.

And also hopefully feeling a little bit more confident in your ability to handle it.

*Bring your kids to work day was a fun little bonus too. Very grateful I get to show him the cool options & possibilities open to him in the future 🫶

Today was all about Q4 & finishing the year strong 💪

I do not want a single leader in my world to get to the end of the year & be fuming at themselves for not achieving the things they wanted to achieve this year.

So we made sure that doesn't happen by identifying our 3 key priorities for the last 4 months of the year, documenting the first steps to making them happen & committing to taking ACTION.

I also shared BTS with a big challenge a lot of my clients are facing right now (CASHFLOW) & a really effective strategy we have used for overcoming it.

The leadership hotseat was all about MANAGING COMPETING PRIORITIES & HOLDING BOUNDARIES, both absolutely key if we want to lead intentionally rather than reactively & actually have time to focus on what matters to us, not just everyone else.

I would love to help you lead with impact & finish 2026 on a high 📈

You want to be strategic but you just don't have time 🫣

I hear you & trust me, I get it.

Your emails haven't stopped pinging since you opened your laptop.
The Teams messages are piling up.
You've got a 1:1 to do.
Three meetings are taking up your entire afternoon.
Oh, and then there's your own work to actually fit in somewhere 🤔

Not only is the constant firefighting absolutely draining but it's frustrating the crap out of you because you can't actually LEAD.

But without the space to think, it's all you can do.

The reality is that no one is going to create the space for you.

You are the only one who can create it.

Here's how you make time when there's no time:

📍 Ruthlessly audit your week & remove anything that is just busy work (there will be things in there that aren't yours to deal with, meetings that could be emails, admin that can be delegated).

📍 Pick one day a week (ideally the day you usually have the least meetings or deadlines).

📍 Block out 1 hour first thing in the morning for "Leadership Work" (before other people's priorities hijack your day).

📍 Mark it on your calendar & let your team know you will be unavailable for that hour each week (they will quickly learn to be organised & speak to you before or after that hour if they need you).

📍 When you sit down to work, close your emails & put your phone on silent (if your team seriously can't cope without you for an hour there is an issue there that definitely requires some strategic thinking to fix!).

📍 If you can, partner with someone to do your strategic thinking with (to brainstorm with - & to make you stick to the plan!).

This morning I carved out 3 hours of my day for strategy meetings.

In that time we:

🔥 Formulated the vision for a new & very exciting business.
🔥 Brought on board two influential partners.
🔥 Gave the business a name.
🔥 Clarified the business offer.
🔥 Planned a launch timescale.

Sometimes creating SPACE is the most impactful thing you can do.

BIG things are coming & I can't wait to tell you all about them 👀

Making an impact as a leader isn't just about what you know or what you can do.

It's about being able to communicate this in a way that lands.

In a way that influences, persuades & moves people.

If you can do that, I guarantee you will be noticed.

And you're too good not to be noticed.

If you know you've had enough of flying under the radar & you're ready to be more visible & get the opportunities you deserve, message me.

I can help.

I work with so many leaders who have achieved "success" only to find that it wasn't what they thought it was going to be.

Which doesn't mean you have to burn it all down like me.

But it does mean you have to be intentional about changing things.

One small step at a time.

It might not be easy but I promise you, it will be worth it.

Thank you Lauren LaForge for being the catalyst for all of this, I will forever be grateful 🫶

"If I died and a stranger found this phone, and they asked about it's owner, based on everything you know about me, what would you tell them? "

Here's what it said about me:

You were a former lawyer who had spent a big chunk of your life leading businesses and people, including being a Deputy Head of a law firm. At some point, though, you realised that the version of success you had built wasn’t enough. You wanted work that felt more meaningful, more human, and more aligned with who you were.

So you changed direction and built Impact Coaching International around something you clearly cared about deeply - helping ambitious leaders achieve exceptional things without losing themselves in the process.

You believed leadership wasn't about having the biggest title, the loudest voice, or knowing all the answers. You were fascinated by the things underneath good leadership: self-awareness, courage, growth, purpose, intention and the choices people make when nobody is watching.

And you were a bit obsessed with one particular idea:

Impact.

Not just “What did you achieve?”
But “What difference did you make?”

You wanted leaders to recognise that their position gave them an opportunity, and a responsibility, to make things better for the people around them. You talked about business as a force for good and believed that being people-first wasn't soft leadership; it was the thing that made great performance possible.

You were also someone who was constantly building.

Ideas seemed to come at you at ridiculous speed 😂

You wanted your work to feel intelligent without being corporate. Powerful without being shouty. Human without becoming fluffy.

You also weren't all work.

You cared about people. You could be talking about executive presence one minute then intensely focused on finding the right present for your brother the next.

If I had to describe you in a handful of words, I'd probably say:

Ambitious. Brave. Human. Driven. Warm. Restless. Purposeful.

And perhaps the thing I'd tell the stranger most strongly is this:

She wasn't content simply to be successful. She wanted her success to mean something.

What would your ChatGPT say about yo

This community though 🥹

Real leaders.
Laying it on the table.

Sharing what's stressing them out right now.

What's stopping them being present at home.

What's feeling really flipping hard.

Because leadership is hard.

But it's a lot less hard with a community of leaders in your corner 🫶

The breakout rooms were apparently like therapy today 🤣

In between the therapy sessions I also shared the BTS work I am doing with business leaders who are currently leading through some really challenging periods of change.

And we talked about the high performance habits that are essential for not only achieving high performance but crucially, for sustaining it 📈

Grateful to every leader who showed up for themselves & every other leader in the room today.

You just don't know how much people needed to hear what you had to say.

If I look tired, I am.

But for THE BEST reason.

Over the past three months I have been pouring everything I have got into a brand new leadership development programme, The Leading Edge.

And today the programme launched with the first cohort 🥳

Who are just incredible.

Ambitious leaders from Clarins, luxury hotel chains, law firms, the Amazon marketplace & charities who have all signed up because they aren't willing to accept average, they want to be exceptional.

And I am beyond excited to teach them how.

This course is everything I wish existed when I was leading a law firm.

High performance coaching.
Practical leadership strategies & tools.
The neuroscience of human behaviour.

Based on 18 years of real world leadership experience, 6 years of working with high performing leaders & a whole load of business, leadership & neuroscience courses.

It's not a surface level tick box course that changes nothing.

It's a deep learning experience that changes everything.

And I am so flipping excited to finally get it out into the world 🌎

We have only had one live session & already I have received amazing feedback:

"WOW! Loved session one sooo much! I’ve just done the survey too it’s brilliant"

"I've recognised my weak spots already, thank you for the initial assessment, very insightful."

Eeeek I can't wait to see the IMPACT these leaders make with what they learn 👀

*I didn't do a public launch as I knew I already had some incredible leaders in my world & when I mentioned it to them, they were an immediate "yes" so the spaces were instantly filled.

There will be a second cohort launching in Autumn though so if you want to be notified, send me a DM & I will add you to the waitlist.

Right where every other brilliant leader is too.

At their growth edge, stepping up, stretching their limits & expanding what they are capable of.

All of them winging it, hoping they have got it & terrified that they haven't.

I know this because they tell me.

Even the ones who have successfully scaled & exited multi-million pound businesses still feel like they don't know what they are doing.

But here's what I need you to know.

Imposter syndrome has absolutely nothing to do with your capability & everything to do with your biology.

It is simply your brain's threat detection system deciding that the move you want to make is dangerous so it starts filling your head with rubbish about not being good enough to try & put you off doing it.

Which means the move is precisely the direction you should go in.

I would be more worried if you never feel like an imposter as that tells me everything you're doing is comfortable & if it's comfortable, it's not progress.

The self-doubt is not a sign that you can't do it.

It's a sign that you haven't done it YET.
