Hi All, no basketball for next 2 weeks, I’m taking a well earned break. To bring you up to date….I have submitted documents and applications to formerly add Dover Dynamix as a club to Basketball England. This allows me to join the Kent Junior Basketball league. The plan is to run an U18 squad in the next season. To do this I will actively look for sponsors and seek support from the local schools to help circulate the training sessions and League schedule.
This won’t be easy, it’s a huge step, but it’s an opportunity to put Dover back on the basketball map. Thanks for your support, and I will be pushing this initiative as much as I can so we can make the 1st steps to develop young adults in Dover, and deliver pathways to an active and responsible lifestyle. 🏀🏀🏀

Session is on tonight 7pm start. The last few weeks have been intense with lower numbers we have been working hard and drilling ourselves to play better. Alex won MVP last week for sheer effort and energy. I won’t be around for next few weeks so…let’s Jam if you can 🏀🏀🏀

Pretty sure you will recognise AD no 11 who played in the in Canterbury at the weekend. Initially trained with Dover Dynamix and had his shoes sponsored by Coach Ken…now playing in an elite tournament.
Win lose or draw, it’s a win for this club.

My old crew rocked up at the GG3x3 tournament last Sunday and sent me an inspirational message. Some of these guys I coached over 8 years ago, and have gone on to become well rounded and respected young adults 👊🏽

Quick update after my meeting with the local MP for Dover and other community leaders….im currently preparing to enter a team in the Kent U18 league which starts September. I’m pulling together a table of expected costs and expected income to see if it can work. We have the squad to compete but with the current cost of living stresses and the restricted access to a court during exams I need to work out of this is viable.
The more sponsors and funding streams we can find the more likely we are to be able to join the league. We are talking sums of £500-£1000 from sponsors for team kit, transport options, expenses for low income families to ensure attendance.
I have drafted a problem statement and action plan which I will turn into a spreadsheet so we understand the financial requirements.
In my meeting I championed our cause with Local Police chiefs, and other community leaders. The benefits are there for all to see as a positive pathway for young people through sport.
I’m also making plans to have high profile guests come to view our training sessions from Sept.
