☀️ Make the most of the last days of summer!

The summer holidays are nearly coming to an end, but the weather is still holding on before the change next week, so it’s the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy some time on the water.

Join us this Thursday at Dover for a Dinghy Sailing Taster Session, a great opportunity to try sailing, learn the basics and experience the fun of being out on the water.

The Six-Hour Pursuit Race returns to Dover Harbour on Saturday 19 September 2026.

Cinque Ports Sailing Club is delighted to invite sailing clubs and sailors from across East Kent to take part in this exciting revival of a classic endurance race. Inspired by the legendary Courroie Sans Fin, the event has been re-imagined for today’s sailors, combining tactical racing, teamwork and endurance in one of the UK’s most iconic sailing venues.

With pursuit starts, every boat has the opportunity to race competitively, promising close racing throughout the day.

☀️ Last few paddleboard spaces left for tomorrow…

If you’ve looked at tomorrow’s forecast and thought, “I don’t want to spend the day melting,” we’ve got a better idea.

Calm water, sunshine and the perfect excuse to cool off on the sea.

Our beginner paddleboard taster sessions still have a handful of spaces available, but once they’re gone, they’re gone.

You know those days when everyone says, “We should’ve made the most of that weather…”?

Don’t let this week be one of them.

The forecast is looking pretty much perfect, the harbour should be beautifully calm, and we’ve got paddleboard taster sessions for complete beginners.

No experience needed. No pressure to be brilliant at it. Just a chance to swap your usual Thursday for a couple of hours on the water, with plenty of laughs along the way.

It’s amazing how being out on the sea can make you forget about work, the washing pile, the endless notifications and everything else waiting at home.

If paddleboarding has been on your “I’ll do it one day” list, maybe this is your one day.

We’ve taken the liberty of making a small adjustment to the weather map, we think the sailing conditions deserve their own symbol!

With some great conditions ahead, it’s a perfect time to get out on the water.

Our August taster sessions are open for both adults and children who would like to try sailing or stand-up paddleboarding in Dover.

“What did you do in the summer holidays?”

Learnt to sail. ⛵

Not just learnt to sail…

Learnt to make decisions.
Learnt to read the wind.
Learnt to work as a team.
Learnt resilience when things didn’t quite go to plan.
Learnt independence.
Learnt confidence.
Learnt that getting something wrong is just part of getting better.

Today is the second day of our RYA Stage 1 & 2 course, where a new group of young sailors begin their journey on the water.

Fancy seeing what all the fuss is about? Thanks to funding from Dover Town Council, local residents can try a Dinghy Sailing Taster this week for just £5 (£10 for non-residents).

No long-term commitment. Just one session to discover why so many people fall in love with sailing.

Fair warning though… we’ve seen plenty of people come for “just one session” and end up staying for years. 😉

Has the holiday boredom already started to creep in? 😅

Swap “what can I do now?” for “look what I can do!” ⛵

Dinghy sailing is a sport where you don’t just watch from the sidelines, you’re in the boat, learning how to steer, work with the wind and make it move. It’s active, hands-on and a brilliant way to spend time outdoors.

This Thursday 6 August, you can try sailing at our Dover Town Council Dinghy Sailing Taster session.

Thanks to Dover Town Council, local residents can take part for just £5 per session (£10 for non-residents), making it a great opportunity to discover a new sport right here in Dover.

No experience needed, just come along, have a go and see what sailing is all about.

The last few spaces are remaining, so if you’ve been meaning to give paddleboarding a go, now’s the time to book!

The school holidays are here… and if you’ve already heard “I’m bored!” at least once, we’ve got you. 😅🌊

Our SUP Taster Sessions are a brilliant way to get the kids (and grown-ups too!) off their screens, out on the water and learning a new skill they’ll use all summer.

With our experienced instructors, they’ll learn how to paddleboard safely, build confidence on the water and pick up the skills they need to enjoy SUP responsibly long after the session ends.

The summer holidays are here, the weather’s looking good, and there’s no better time to get out on the water.

Whether you’ve always wanted to try stand-up paddleboarding, you’re looking for a new family activity, or you’re ready to take your sailing to the next level, we’ve got something for you next week.

Our SUP sessions take place in the sheltered waters of Dover Harbour, making them the perfect place to learn. You’ll be guided by our experienced instructors every step of the way, so even if you’ve never stepped on a board before, you’ll soon be paddling with confidence.

We’re also running our RYA Youth Stage 2 Sailing course on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 August for young sailors ready to build on their Stage 1 skills.

On Thursday 6 August, thanks to support from Dover Town Council, we’re offering subsidised sailing taster sessions, making it even easier to give sailing a go this summer.

Summer sessions are always popular, so we’d recommend booking early to avoid missing out.
