So the cats out of the bag!
A few sneaky people have worked behind the scenes to nominate me for a community award and I have been shortlisted for it!

So I get to be suited and booted and attend an awards evening in a month or so (I best find my suit again!) and today I had a film crew come down to getting to showcase the gym and what I do and it was really difficult for me to remember everything I wanted to say in such a short window but hopefully it will come out alright!

I’m so grateful to everyone that nominated me it’s an incredibly humbling experience considering where I was at just over a couple of years ago not wanting to stick around, overweight unhappy, undiagnosed audhd living with internalised guilt with no idea about what i wanted to do and fast forward to now even though I still have days or weeks where I struggle I have a bit of life direction, I’ve helped a plethora of people and I continue to be there for anybody struggling with their mentality and their health!

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING watch this space ❤️😊

Anyone coming up to MG Fitness Studio today I wouldn’t park in front of the building as they’re spraying it 👍🏻

A wonderful elderly lady I’ve been helping out for a while has been battling several health issues and as a result one of the things she’s stopped doing is riding and racing pushbikes on the road through fear of falling which has only left her with a turbo trainer to use that still gives her a similar feeling of riding a bike (a lady after my own heart), so I have made it my mission to get her back on the turbo trainer again which hopefully will help her overall wellbeing and build up a little bit of strength in her legs and arms and being sat more upright hopefully will alleviate some of the issues she’s been having with carpel tunnel in her hands from leaning on them so much in her racing days.

I love the old quote by Mahatma Ghandi:
“Be the change you want to see in the world” essentially the only way the world can become a better place is through people’s efforts volunteering to help their local communities, inspiring love, generosity and kindness to other people and hopefully with the future generations paying it forward.

A little bit of hopecore for your Thursday afternoon 💪🏻

Obviously if you watch this to the end you’ll realise that this was a bit of fun (hence the oatcake in my beard) but this highlights the difference between me and some other personal trainers online, highlighting that most of what you see on social media isn’t often how things are in reality.

I don’t believe in overly restricting yourself and not enjoying the things you love whilst in the pursuit of fitness, the world is already a tough place to live in, but rather being Mindful of the things that you eat, to simplify things if you plan on having a few beers, maybe a takeaway and cake at the weekend then be mindful for the rest of the week and try to practice eating a bit healthier watching your calorific intake, especially if you are calorie counting as one weekend of bad eating could cause you to maintain or to gain weight by the following weekend even if you eat relatively normally throughout said week.

I think you have to have a balance to stay “healthy” longterm otherwise you’ll stop enjoying life and you will feel miserable, health isn’t always ripped muscles and no cellulite because everyone’s body is different, some require more or less calories to maintain lose or gain and just to survive so pay no mind to most “gymfluencers” wearing gymshark pants half way up their backside and topless crossfitters spouting bu****it about how 9 sets of 100 is “healthy”.

I know a ripped body, a six pack and all the rest of it might look aesthetically pleasing but I personally know several bodybuilders that have REALLY struggled with their mental health through extreme calorie deficits and those that have taken shortcuts like weight loss pills and jabs that don’t begin to learn how to manage their diet during have ended up putting the weight back on, these things are merely tools that can help us to lose weight, not the full answer to this particular equation.

If you need any help or assistance then drop me a message and we can get you started 😊

Haven’t uploaded anything gym related for a while as I’ve been busy (faffing about with my van😂) but mainly getting everything off the ground!

Positivity Mobility is now fully operational I’ve got a few clients already but plenty of space at the minute, I want to help those that really need it prioritising longevity, functionality and a healthy mindset rather than your generic weight loss and strength you’d expect from a personal trainer, I want to help everybody that needs a little assistance, from neurodivergent families both kids and adults (I also have an enhanced DBS from helping the school drop ins and woodland sessions with MTM Youth services), the elderly, those struggling with addiction or mental health conditions all of the above and more to try and give people enough confidence with the goal being that eventually they don’t need a personal trainer anymore!

For more information drop me a message as I also can help with a plethora of other things if you’re struggling!😊
