Today, the Phoenix 2016 squad travelled to Omagh for the Strathroy Harps Tournament and put in a fantastic dayโ€™s work in tough weather conditions.

After three competitive group games, the boys were narrowly beaten in two closely fought matches and picked up an excellent win in the other. Eoin was outstanding between the posts, making superb saves all day. Noe, Riain and Kayden were rock solid in defence, while Davin, Josh, Jack and Reece worked tirelessly through midfield. Up front, Charlie and Carter led the line with great energy and determination.

A special mention goes to Davin, who was in sensational form throughout the tournament, finishing the day with an incredible five goals. ๐Ÿ‘

The boys then stepped up another level in the semi-final, producing a brilliant performance to book their place in the Plate Final against hosts Strathroy Harps.

The final was a thrilling 18-minute contest, with both teams creating chances but neither able to find the breakthrough. The game went to a dramatic penalty shootout, where Eoin again showed nerves of steel with crucial saves, and Riain kept Phoenix alive with a massive penalty.

Then up stepped Carter, who calmly slotted home the winning penalty to spark huge celebrations from players, coaches and supporters! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ†

The coaches are incredibly proud of every player for their effort, attitude and teamwork throughout the day. To battle through difficult conditions, play excellent football and come home as Plate Champions is a fantastic achievement.

๐Ÿ”ดโšซ๏ธ What a fantastic day for our 2018 Boys at the Foyle Harps Tournament! ๐Ÿ”ดโšซ๏ธ

The boys put in an outstanding performance throughout the day and can be incredibly proud of what they achieved.

In our opening group game, the lads got off to a great start with a 2-1 victory over Maiden City. Next up was Portstewart, where we battled hard to earn a 1-1 draw. The boys then really found their rhythm against Ballymena, producing a superb display to win 3-0.

A tough encounter with Omagh followed, but the lads showed great determination to come away with a 2-1 victory. In the final group game, they rounded things off in style with a 3-0 win over Tristar.

Going through the group stage unbeaten in five games was a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the effort, attitude, and quality shown by every player.

The quarter-final saw another exciting contest as the boys dug deep and secured a dramatic 3-2 win over Ballymoney, scoring in the dying minutes to book their place in the semi-finals.

Awaiting us there was Tristar. It was another hard-fought game, but despite a tremendous effort from our boys, Tristar did enough to take the win 3-1.

To play 7 games, win 5, draw 1, and lose just 1 is a fantastic achievement. Every single player gave everything throughout the day and did their club, coaches, and parents proud.

Congratulations to Tristar FC, who went on to win the cup, and a huge thank you to Foyle Harps for hosting such a well-organised tournament.

A brilliant day of football, teamwork, and memories made.

A brilliant day for our Phoenix Colts 2018s at the Gerry Doc Memorial Tournament hosted by Foyle Harps.

The boys finished 2nd in their group, winning 2 games and narrowly losing 1, earning their place in the Cup quarter-finals. They then came up against a very strong Omagh side, where their tournament journey came to an end.

Every single player played their part throughout a very competitive tournament, showing great effort, teamwork, determination and plenty of quality football along the way. The coaches couldn't be prouder of how the boys represented the club.

A big thank you to Foyle Harps for hosting another fantastic tournament in memory of Gerry Doc and for providing a great day of football for all involved.

What a day for our 2016s at the Top of the Hill Tournament!

The boys put on a fantastic display of football throughout the tournament, showing tremendous teamwork, determination, and skill from the first whistle to the last. After a brilliant run to the final, they were incredibly unlucky to come away on the wrong side of a hard-fought 1-0 scoreline.

Every player gave absolutely everything for the badge and should be immensely proud of their efforts.

At the back, Eoin, Noe, Riain and Kayden were outstanding, defending bravely and working tirelessly to keep the team in every game. Further forward, Jack, Davin, Josh, Carter and Charlie caused problems for every opposition they faced with their energy, movement, passing and attacking play.

Most importantly, the boys played with smiles on their faces, supported each other all day, and created memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to Top of the Hill Celtic for hosting another excellent tournament and to all the parents, families and supporters who cheered the boys on throughout the day.
