North Derry Pony Club

North Derry Pony Club Everyone is welcome Alongside these we run discipline specific (Show Jumping, Dressage, Cross Country) Rally’s at various outdoor locations.

North Derry's aim for our kids is to:
• Make lifelong friends
• Learn & develop their Horsemanship skills.
• Support each other, work as a team, celebrate the good days and learn how to manage the not so good ones! ‘North Derry’ is a growing branch of the Pony Club within Area 17 (Northern Ireland)

We run fortnightly Rally’s at Eglinton Equestrian Centre. Mounted Games training has been an import

ant part of our club. We’ve had some great successes over the years with members being selected to ride at Balmoral & Windsor. This year one of our members represented the UK in Canada 🍁

We also hold an annual Pony Club Camp in the summer. This is the highlight of most of our members year!!! As a club we are striving for our kids to not only have fun but also to grow their knowledge. We have an amazing Education Lead on board who works tirelessly to encourage and enable our members to complete Pony Club Tests & Badges. The aim is for our kids to:
* Make lifelong Friends
* Learn & develop horsemanship skills.
* Support each other, work as a team. Celebrate the good days and learn how to manage the not so good ones. Every riding ability is welcome at North Derry 🫶

🏆🐎 The first date of our Ash Hollow Summer Derby League 1. Saturday 9th May 🏆 🐎 is just around the corner, taking place on Saturday 9th May 🤗

Our Derby courses are predominantly made up of XC fences along with a handful of showjumps and working hunter fences added in along the way 🐎

We’ve classes ranging from 40cm Assisted to 1m, so hopefully something to suit everyone.

⏰ Entries Close strictly on Thursday 7th May at 9am, to allow time to prep our starting order.

The club is running our Derby show at Causeway Coast and Glens arena on Saturday 18th of April, starting at 10-30am.
I'd like folks to pre-enter via WhatsApp on 07525 633290. No payment required until you arrive at the show. This is to facilitate a start list and enable us to give approximate start times for classes.
We will still accept entries on the day, but would like to trial this to see how it goes.

It’s been quite the day for members. 🌟

Lucy, Emily, Holly, Sarah & Ruby headed to Dirraw to complete their C+ assessment. 🐎🐴

Rachel headed all the way to Tullymurray in County Down to complete her B level Horse & Pony Care assessment and lunging assessment.

We are so delighted that EVERYONE passed. It’s a credit to them! Thank you to for all your fantastic coaching. Thank you to Kyle & Roberta for assessing the C+ group and to all the assessors at Tullymurray.

Huge thank you to Claire Kirkwood for coordinating all the training within club and thanks to Nikki & Heather for all their organising for B training.

It’s fantastic to see the girls getting recognition for all the hard work they put in. We are extremely proud of you all 🙌

Donegal Harriers Limited have opened their ENTRIES for their forthcoming Hunter Trials taking place here on Saturday 28th March 🤩

Class 1 is taking place in our fenced-off mini area complete with mini water splash 💦 and mini bank 🪵

Classes 2 - 5 are going to start in our main XC field, moving into our adjoining fields, then finishing back in the main field, so you’re going to have a chance to go up (and maybe down!) the gears 🐎 🌱

You’ll be able to watch all of the action from a few vantage points 👀

With classes for both individuals and pairs, everyone is covered and it promises be a great day out!
