🏉 RUGBY IS FINALLY BACK!

MEN'S RE-SCHEDULED PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES

Rugby is finally back this week, with the first of two rearranged friendlies ahead of the long awaited new campaign.

Come along and see how the lads are shaping up as they prepare for the upcoming Tribute Ale Leagues.

We look forward to welcoming both new and returning supporters and always appreciate your support at our away fixtures, the more the merrier!

2026-27 SEASON START DELAYED

The RFU has delayed the start of the 2026–27 competitive community rugby season until the week commencing Monday 21 September.

Following the recent heatwave and resulting hard, dry playing surfaces, the decision has been taken primarily to protect player welfare and safety, allowing players to return to full-contact rugby safely and giving clubs greater certainty for planning the upcoming season.

Our first Men’s League fixtures will now commence Saturday 26th September as follow:

Cullompton RFC 1st XV vs Barnstaple RFC 2’s (Away)
Cullompton RFC 2’s vs Ilfracombe RFC (Home)

We apologise for any inconvenience this delay may cause and thank our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters for their understanding and patience.

In Memory of Stef Lawrence Richards

Cullompton RFC are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Cullompton Rugby player, Stef Lawrence Richards.

Stef played for Cullompton in 2014 and was a very talented rugby player who went on to represent many clubs throughout his career, both playing alongside us and against us.

More importantly, Stef was a lovely person — a bright, friendly young man who was a pleasure to have around the club.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Stef's family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him at this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for playing for Cullompton, Stef. You will be remembered. ❤️

Health Screening Event – 1st October

One of our members, Stuart Young, has kindly arranged for the same company that visited us in August 2024 to return to the club to offer health screening, including PSA testing. Please see attached.

The idea actually came from one of our Vice Presidents, who mentioned travelling to another club for testing and asked why we didn't offer something similar. The majority of us will have seen friends or family members experience prostate problems and thought it was well worth organising this event again.

At the last event, 31 people attended and three were advised to seek further medical investigation. That demonstrates just how worthwhile these events can be.

Although PSA testing is aimed at men, the event is certainly not just for men. Ladies are very welcome, with a wide range of health tests available.

To make the visit viable, we need a minimum of 60 attendees.

The tests are privately funded, so attendees simply pay for whichever tests they choose. We appreciate many people are fortunate enough to receive these through their GP, but that isn't always the case.

If you're interested in attending on 1st October please register and book your time slot online by visiting www.mypsatests.org.uk.

If you do not have access to the internet please ring the office on 01926 419959 and they will be happy to book you an appointment.
