🏆 OTTER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! 🏆

What a season! Our ladies’ softball team have secured the Otter League title with a fantastic 48-run victory over Upottery today! 🥳💜💚

The ladies have had an incredible season, winning all but one game — and that one ended in a heartbreaking one-run defeat! 🙈 Their consistency, determination and team spirit have been amazing to watch.

A huge thank you also goes to all of our younger girls who have stepped up throughout the season and played their part. You’ve all done a fantastic job and we’re so proud of you! 💪👏

The team couldn’t have achieved this without the support of our umpires, scorers, coaches, families and everyone behind the scenes. A massive thank you to Katelyn Bowles-Hawkins, Paul Rendall, Graham Bowles and Elliot Rowland along with everyone else who has chipped in, helped out or supported the ladies throughout the season. 💜💚

It’s been an amazing season filled with great softball, plenty of laughter and an even greater group of ladies. 🥰

Now it’s time to celebrate… and then get ready for FINALS DAY! 🏆🥳

🏏 DEVON LEAGUE CRICKET SATURDAY FIXTURES 🏏

It’s Saturday, which can only mean one thing… Devon League Cricket is back! 🔥

The teams are out, and we’ve got another big day ahead for the club!

🏏 1st XI – Away at Bridestowe & Belstone
The 1s are on the road looking to make it another win and continue their winning streak! With Bridestowe & Belstone sitting just above us in the league, it’s set to be a proper battle, and the lads will be determined to come away with the points! 💪

🏏 2nd XI – Home vs Clyst St George
The 2s welcome Clyst St George to Kingsford Park as they look to make it back-to-back-to-back wins! Sitting 4th and with very little between the teams at the top, another victory could see the lads and ladies move even closer to the leaders. 🏏🔥

🏏 3rd XI – Home vs Hatherleigh
The 3s are back at our lovely second home in Plymtree, hosting Hatherleigh. Sitting 4th themselves, and returning after a couple of weeks without a game due to byes, they’ll be keen to get back out there and get the win! 👊

🏏 4th XI – Away vs Barnstaple & Pilton
The 4s head to Chittlehampton Cricket Club to take on Barnstaple & Pilton. With injuries and holidays stretching the squad, it’s great to welcome some new and old faces into the side today. Good luck to everyone pulling on the shirt! 💪

Four teams, plenty to play for and hopefully plenty of runs, wickets and wins! 🏏

🏏 Back-to-back wins for the 1st XI! 💙😍

Much-needed back-to-back wins for the 1st Team, starting with a hard-fought 3-wicket victory over Bovey Tracey at the beginning of the month, before following it up with a fantastic 8-wicket win over league leaders North Devon on Saturday.

Against Bovey Tracey, the bowling attack did the job to restrict the hosts to 174, with Jason Parr leading the way with 3-45, Brendon Parr, James Vincent & Dan Reynaldo all picking up 2 wickets each. With the bat, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe smashed a superb 59 from just 37 balls, including five fours and five sixes, before Harry Everett finished unbeaten on 34 to see the team home with plenty to spare.

Saturday's victory was even more impressive, dismissing top-of-the-table North Devon for just 101 before chasing the total down for the loss of only two wickets, reaching 102 in just 18.5 overs. A brilliant all-round team performance and exactly the kind of result needed to build some momentum. James Vincent & Paul Rendall the stand out bowlers who between them bowled 20 overs picking up 7 wickets & going for just 51 runs!! Top work!! 👏👏

The lads will look to continue their good form this weekend as they travel to Bridestowe. 👊

🏏 Ladies Softball Update 🏏

Our ladies have had a fantastic couple of games against Exmouth, coming out on top in both! 💚💜

The first match away at Exmouth saw the team secure an impressive 73-run victory. It was a brilliant game with plenty of laughs, and to top it all off, some of the team even celebrated with a dip in the sea! 🌊😂

We then welcomed Exmouth to Kingsford Park for a very special occasion – the first ladies' game to be played at our new home. The team continued their great form, winning by 49 runs! 👏

With just two league games remaining, the ladies are sitting proudly at the top of the Otter League. Keep it going, girls! 💪🏆

Finally, we'd like to wish our vice-captain, Chloe Phillips, all the very best as she undergoes surgery on her ACL. We're all behind you and wish you a smooth recovery. 💜 Chloe will sadly miss the final two games, but she made a huge impact in the last two fixtures, scoring 38 runs at Exmouth and taking 3 wickets in the home game. You'll be missed on the pitch, and we can't wait to see you back stronger than ever! 💐👏

Things are really moving fast at Horn Road! 🤩

On Tuesday, our brand-new scoreboard was installed, and it's another exciting step forward for the club! 🏏👏

What a game at Horn Road yesterday! 🏏

We were delighted to host the Devon Lions vs Somerset Pathway U18s in a thrilling contest that went right down to the final over.

Devon posted an impressive 281 batting first, before Somerset mounted a fantastic chase. In the end, Devon held their nerve, bowling Somerset out for 275 to secure a dramatic 6-run victory.

It was a brilliant display of cricket and a fantastic advert for the game. With only a handful of matches played at Horn Road so far, it's great to see the wicket already performing so well.

Thanks to both teams for putting on such an entertaining contest! 👏
