💫 ASN classes update 💫

We are always looking for ways we can improve all of our classes and how we deliver them and, since the introduction of our wonderful Thrive class, we’ve noticed something we could do better so we’re updating them!

We want to create a space with our ASN classes where we are able to give the right level of support to each dancer for their individual needs, so we’ve added two new classes to help us do this ☺️

We now have:
🌼 Blossom
💜 Thrive
✨ Shine

Each class is tailored for dancers with ASNs/disabilities depending on the level of one-to-one support they need as they learn to dance 🥰

These classes are all taught by our Principal, Kara, who has over 10 years of experience working with people of all ages with disabilities and additional support needs, in both a dance and youth work setting. She has also completed courses in Disability Awareness for Educational Practitioners as well as courses in SEND Awareness in Dance.

Our current Thrive dance families say: “the thrive class is fabulous 🤩 my daughter just loves it. Kara and the other instructors give demonstrations and instructions at just the right pace, and the repetitive practice of each move of the routine, is at a perfect level for my daughter to learn. She is motivated to take part and isn’t pushed to do more than she is able. The class is full of fun, and lots of praise is given to each individual and as a whole group. It is an absolutely amazing dance class. I would highly recommend ❤️”

📣 Reintroducing… MUSICAL THEATRE 🎭

After a small hiccup we are SO excited to announce that we have a new date for Musical Theatre coming to our timetable - Saturday 3rd October!

Musical theatre is a vibrant storytelling form of performance that creatively combines acting, spoken dialogue, songs, and dance. Every element works together to communicate amazing stories!

At the moment we will only be running a primary school age class with plans to add a secondary age one in in the near future ☺️

With this new class we are bringing the fabulous Casey into our Instructor team 🥳

“Casey is delighted to be starting the brand new Musical Theatre class at Daffodil Dance Academy. Casey has always loved drama, and everything to do performing since a very young age. She has performed in pantomime since the age of eight and loves everything Musical Theatre!

While studying, Casey has enrolled in every class possible related to Musical Theatre and Drama, achieving exceptional grades in them all.

Casey has also written, produced and directed Beath High School’s pantomime the past three years. Most recently having her biggest show yet last year with a cast of 50 and a two night sold out audience.

Currently furthering her studies of performing arts in higher education, Casey has always dreamed of passing on her passion for MT and drama to future generations of performers. She also teaches Drama at local primary schools.

Casey’s favourite bit of teaching is seeing the children & young people she teaches growing in confidence!

She can’t wait to welcome new faces into the studio in October! ☺️”

Congratulations are in order for Senior dancer & teaching assistant, Ellie! ✨✨✨

Ellie auditioned for Hamilton Junior Associates Programme at Hamilton Theatre Arts this week and was successful in gaining a place 🥳

We are all so proud of Ellie! She has been with us since DDA first opened and has consistently worked so hard week in week out to become the best dancer & performer she can be 🥰

We can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds for you!
