Swimpigs SWIMPIGS - FLY HAPPY THROUGH WATER. Personal swim coaching under the sky Specialising in one-to-one swim coaching under the sky, it's all about you. Estd.

SWIMPIGS is inspired by the infamous pigs of the Bahamas who swim happy and free and achieve the unexpected. Individual sessions are tailored to your swim goal and instructed in-water, opening a window into your swimming above and below the surface and enabling continuous communication and coaching. GIVE WINGS TO YOUR SWIMS - My aim is to get more people loving swimming under the sky and feeling t

he benefit. I set out to help individuals of all ages achieve their personal swimming goal and more, from open water confidence to refining technique and skills.

* Focused sessions centred on your journey through water, from mud lovers who wannabe water hogs to ‘go-faster’ triathletes

* Moving you forward on tempo with your ambition and beyond the expected

* 'Swimming without limits' h2osophy, to get you gliding high and feeling ‘swimgood’

See it - Feel it - Do it - Love it

PASSION & EXPERIENCE - I just love swimming, year-round, especially in wild places and the cold, clear waters of west Ireland. I have immersed myself in swims that have become amazing journeys including Scilly Swim Challenge 15k, Wild Wye Swim 10.5k, Dart 10k, Bantham Swoosh 6k, and The Great Fjord Swim 4k. On 14th July 2018, I was one of the first four women ever to swim the 10k across Brandon Bay (Co. Kerry), as part of a self-organised event supporting RNLI. I have helped young swimmers to enjoy water safely for more than 15 years, and was a volunteer coach at Clevedon Amateur Swimming Club (2013-2021). SWIMPIGS Fly happy through water. June 2017 :@)

Ulva lactuca :@)
Sea Lettuce is a translucent, flat seaweed found year-round, on sheltered rocky shores, and in shallow waters and pools. As it contains chlorophyll, it needs good levels of light, so does not thrive in deeper waters. Its bright green, ruffled fronds resemble lettuce leaves. The plants are pale green when young, bright green when mature and dark green when old.

Laminaria digitata :@)
Oarweed forests are important ecosystems and habitats, providing grazing material for urchins and microfauna, shelter for fish, and anchorage for seaweeds. Oarweed (AKA Tangleweed) is dark browny-green, with long fronds split into long ribbons. It has been used for centuries for fertiliser, food, and as a source of chemicals.

Aurelia aurita :@)
The Moon Jellyfish is the most common type of jellyfish, blooming in our seas between April to September. They have a purple or pink flower-shape with four petals' on their transparent back, short tentacles and measure around 25 - 40cm in diameter. They do not have a strong enough sting to pe*****te human skin - but contact might result in a minor stinging sensation. The best antidote is to rinse the sting area in sea water.

Sea meadows :@)
Seagrass is an invaluable part of our eco-system. It captures carbon up to 35x faster than tropical rainforests and, even though it only covers 0.2% of the seafloor, it absorbs 10% of the ocean's carbon each year, making it an incredible tool in the fight against climate change. In addition, seagrass provides food, shelter, and essential nursery areas for all sorts of marine life.

Washed up on the tide… Lesser spotted dogfish, or small spotted catsharks, are small sharks that live on and near the seabed. They have beautiful spotted skins that are covered in tough sandpaper like skin teeth.
