Absence makes the heart grow fonder they said. Well it feels so long ago since we were all training in the dojo together.

A break over Christmas and New Year has given us all time for our bodies to relax and recharge.🔋

Now, we are ready for you all again. Dojo cleaned, fresh touch ups of paint, pads all disinfected. Are you ready to take on the new year? 🤜🏼🤛🏻

Holly comes training twice a week. Every single time she steps into the dojo, she is focused and give 100% all the time. Holly doesn’t get it correct all the time, after all, that’s how we all learn! BUT she will not let it bother her. Practice practice practice.
This girl is an inspiration to us all. We admire your passion and determination Holly. A massive credit to our lovely club.

Last night was our last session for 2023.

What a year it has been. We have had kata courses, gradings, outdoor summer sessions, a brand new dojo, visiting other clubs and a whole lot of giggles. We have learnt so much and have grown stronger together.

Friendships have developed and will last forever. We are so much more than just a karate club.

A perfect mixture of friendship, chaos and trust.

An outstanding effort for all that graded on Saturday.
The panel said the standards were really high and massive improvement from the last grading.
6 months of hard work for most, 14 months for a girl who got her Brown belt (3rd kyu) and some practicing in their spare time.
Big shout out to The Buhryn Brothers who made a 3 hour round trip so they could do their grading.
To see confidence build, friendship’s cemented, encouraging others, comitment and discipline - all with huge smiles on their faces.

I was absolutely blown away by last night efforts by all the students that trained. There was a fantastic atmosphere and everyone had that spark last night.

They were proving to me that they deserved their next grade, not trying to convince me.! Big big difference.

It’s all in the mind set (something I still battle with my own journey at times) if you believe you can, you will. If you hold back, have doubt and think you can’t, you’re probably right.

Everyone truly believed in themselves last night and what a privilege it was to watch.

Yesterday 3 students from Dento Ryu went over to Broadwell Karate Club to train under Sensei Paul James. What a fantastic experience it was.
Learning some different techniques and getting to see how other clubs train.
This will benefit these student no end and Sensei Paul has said anyone of our students are welcome anytime.

So today marks our 1 year on Dento Ryu Karate Club opening.

What a journey it has been so far.

A whole year full of happy students, instructors still learning, everyone working hard, laughs along the way, self improvement, discipline, dojo etiquette, forever friendship made and treasured.

The biggest thanks goes out to the students. It all of you that make this enjoyable and so rewarding.

Dento Ryu - we stand together, we stand strong. 🔴🕊️
