Learning to juggle? Start with your laces. ⚽

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is using the wrong part of the foot.

Use the laces to make contact with the ball and keep your foot relatively firm.

If you catch the ball too much with your toes or the wrong part of your foot, the ball can quickly fly away from you.

Start simple. Control the touch. Then build the rhythm.

Are you using the space properly in 2v1s?

If you’re slowly dribbling across the pitch, the defender doesn’t have to commit.

Instead, drive towards the goal with speed.

The quicker you attack the defender, the quicker they have to make a decision — and that can create more space for your teammate.

Don’t just carry the ball. Commit the defender.

Why should you practise juggling in football training?

It might look simple, but juggling helps develop ball control, coordination, balance, and confidence on the ball.

The more comfortable you become controlling the ball, the easier it is to manage your first touch when the game gets difficult.

But what do you think? Why is juggling important?

Passing in a 2v1? Get this right. ⚽

It’s not just about making the pass — it’s where and when you play it.

Fix the defender, wait for them to commit, then play the pass with the right pace and direction so your teammate can attack the space.

One good pass can turn a 2v1 into a clear chance.

Foot → Thigh → Inside. ⚽

A simple juggling sequence to help you command your touches and improve your ball control.

Keep the ball close, stay balanced, and focus on making every touch intentional.

Start slow, get comfortable with the pattern, then challenge yourself to keep it going without losing control.

Can you master the sequence?

Find the space — a detail you can’t miss in a 2v1.

If the passing lane is blocked, don’t just stand there and wait.

You still have space behind the defender.

Recognise it, start your run, and as the defender shifts, your teammate can slide the pass into the space for you to attack.

It’s not always about passing straight away — sometimes your movement creates the passing opportunity.

Don’t make it easy for the defender to intercept you.

One common mistake is moving away from your marker too early.

If the defender can see your movement before the ball arrives, they can simply follow you and cut out the pass.

Instead, scan first, stay patient, then make your movement as the ball travels.

Create separation, check your shoulder, and give yourself space to receive and play forward.

The timing of your movement matters just as much as the movement itself.

Defending a 2v1 isn’t easy — but this detail matters.

As the attacker dribbles towards you, stay patient and keep moving.

Don’t dive in. Wait for the right moment, then react to their first touch and use it to your advantage.

2v1 — what’s your decision? ⚽

This drill helps you get better at one of the biggest parts of attacking:

Do I dribble or do I pass?

With a defender in front of you, you have to read the situation quickly.

If the defender commits, pass.
If they give you space, attack them.

The more you practise these situations, the quicker and better your decisions become.
