πŸ‰ A New Chapter for Blyth RFC First XV πŸ‰

The league structures for next season have been released, and Blyth RFC will compete in the brand new North East Counties 3 North.

This newly created league brings together a mix of established 1st XVs and, for the first time, the 2nd and 3rd teams of some of the region's larger clubs. It makes for an interesting blend of rugby, with familiar faces, new opposition, and plenty of local derbies to look forward to.

We'll be lining up against:

πŸ“ Consett 2
πŸ“ Durham City 2
πŸ“ Gateshead 2
πŸ“ Houghton 2
πŸ“ Percy Park 2
πŸ“ Ryton 2
πŸ“ Seaham
πŸ“ Washington
πŸ“ DMP 3

At least we know what our league looks like now... πŸ‘€

A fresh challenge, some new grounds to visit, and another season of representing Blyth with pride.

Up The Blyth! πŸ’šπŸ–€

We’re closing in on Β£2,000 raised through player sponsorship already this season β€” and that’s absolutely massive for Blyth RFC.

Every single bit of support goes straight back into the club: helping us kit players out, maintain facilities, support matchday costs, and keep rugby accessible for everyone involved. It genuinely makes a difference week in, week out.

A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored a player so far β€” your backing doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s a big part of what keeps this club moving forward on and off the pitch.

There’s still time to get involved if you’d like to sponsor a player for the season and support the lads directly.

New season incoming at Blyth RFC, and the Candy League is back.

A proper mix of old friends, new faces, and the usual suspects who somehow always find their way back onto a team sheet.

While the rest of the leagues are still doing their admin and working out what the tables even look like… at least we know where we stand: good rugby, good lads, and a third half that never lets us down.

The Candy League isn’t about overcomplicating things β€” it’s about getting a game, having a laugh, and making sure the bar takings stay healthy.

See you on the pitch.

Well done to our nominated volunteers, Jonathan Barlow and Rob Bowman. We're proud of the work you do for the club.

πŸ’šπŸ–€ RE-SIGNED | LEE GALLON πŸ–€πŸ’š

Another familiar face is back for the new season as Lee Gallon commits to Blyth RFC.

After taking some time away from the game, Lee has returned looking fitter, stronger and in arguably the best shape of his life. He's worked hard off the pitch and is ready to bring that energy back to Plessey Road.

Of course, some things never change...

"They call me Reggie, cos I'm on the register."

We haven't got a clue either, but we're glad he's back.

Welcome back, Lee. πŸ’šπŸ–€

Another of our young lads returns for the new season πŸ’šπŸ–€

After stepping into the senior team last season, Josh Jones is back in green & black and ready for another year at Plessey Road.

Having come through the Red Bulls academy pathway, Josh is another young player continuing to make the step into senior rugby at Blyth.

His mentality?

β€œDon’t cut corners.”

Great to have you back for another season πŸ‘Š

🌟 PLAYER FOCUS: LEWIS CONROY 🌟

Only just turned 18, but Lewis is already settling into senior rugby at Plessey Road with real maturity πŸ’šπŸ–€

Comfortable at 12 or 15, he’s hit the ground running since stepping up β€” showing he’s more than capable of handling the step into men’s rugby. Composed, reliable, and quickly becoming part of the group.

With 11 years in the game behind him, the foundations are there… and the early signs are very promising for what’s ahead πŸ‘€

When asked what he enjoys most about rugby, his answer says it all:

🀝 β€œThe camaraderie.”

A young lad with a big future in black & green β€” one to watch closely πŸ”₯

A massive thanks to the lads from Brentwood RFC for making the trip north and being great company on tour 🍻

Good rugby, good craic, and absolutely no incidents worth reporting… despite what this photo might suggest πŸ‘€

Safe travels home lads β€” the door’s always open for another visit!

πŸ‰πŸ» DINNER & AWARDS DAY IS HERE! πŸ†

Tonight we swap muddy boots for shirts (some of us might even iron them) as we celebrate another season at Blyth RFC πŸ’šπŸ–€

A chance to recognise the graft, the hits, the tries, the sideline shouting, the volunteers, and of course dish out a few awards… with the odd questionable speech thrown in for good measure πŸ‘€

And because we know priorities matter… food tonight will be provided by the brilliant Punjab Caterers Newcastle πŸŒΆοΈπŸ›

Big thanks to Punjab Caterers Newcastle for feeding the masses tonight! Give them a follow here πŸ‘‰ https://www.facebook.com/punjabcaterersnewcastle/

If tonight’s anything like their usual standard, nobody’s going home hungry 🍽️

Here’s to another season done the Blyth way 🍻
