SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The newly formed Masons Arms FC are looking for a range of new sponsors for the coming 2026/27 season!

As a grassroots club, we're passionate about bringing people together through football and becoming a positive part of the local community. We're looking to build long-term relationships with businesses that share those values and would like to support local sport.

In return, we'll work closely with our sponsors to provide the best exposure we can and do our best to create a partnership that benefits both the club and the business.

If you own a business, or know someone who might be interested in supporting an ambitious local football club, please get in touch with our page for a chat.

MASONS ARMS FC IS CONFIRMED!!

The world's worst kept secret is finally out, we have partnered with The Masons arms in Blyth to become our new sponsor going forward!

Everyone at the club is extremely excited to be partnering with such a quality pub, filled with a great group of staff and regulars. Given it's connection with football in Blyth and the North East, when the opportunity came about to partner up, it was an absolute no brainer.

We have lots of exciting announcements coming in the next few weeks so stay tuned! However for now, we continue planning & preparing for pre-season and eventually our second season in the Premier Coaches Blyth Cramlington & District Sunday Football League !

And just like that, the first season of this club is done - and what a season it's been.

For those who don't know, we are parting ways with the Border Minstrel at the end of this month to take on an exciting new project! Everyone associated with the club would like to put on record our thanks to the Border Minstrel and Newcastle Racecourse, they backed us from the very start and gave us the tools to start this amazing club. We leave you with nothing but our best wishes!!

We would also like to thank to everyone who has given us a follow, liked and commented on our page. Another huge thank you to those who made the effort to come down to watch us, it really makes a huge difference.

Thank you to all the volunteers who make life for the players an ease, really are the unsung hero's of this club!

A massive thank you to our sponsors

FULL TIME

The points are shared in a 1-1 affair. Admin joined the live stream on facetime with 20 mins to go, where Benfield put themselves 1 up before shocker of a challenge on Leo Hawkins saw a Benfield player sent off with a straight red. Minstrel players were all over the shop after picking positions out the hat, we had goalkeepers in midfield and up top, wingers at centre half and midfielders in pegs but it was class crack. With 5 mins to go, Gio La Rosa added to his tally for the season with a late equaliser to bag us points on the final day with Euan Wilson providing the assist. Not a bad result for a team picking positions out the hat against a full strength side.

MOTM goes to midfield mystro Adam Dochety who played in goal for the day. An sensational performance between the sticks from the main man!

FULL TIME

A team well above our level but a better scoreline than expected lol.

A couple of preventable goals to start before a decent strike from distance put Newsham 3-0 up at HT. The lads defended solidly all game but another 2 goals came near the end to make it 5 - but the lads knew the opposition were well above our level so just went out there to enjoy 90 mins of footy.

Final game of the season next weekend, with nothing to play for we will switch up the player positions for a laugh!

MATCHDAY -1

For the penultimate time this season, the Minstrel are in action tomorrow against Newsham and New Delaval. A side chasing the title with over 130 goals this season, this will likely be a very one sided affair haha.

FULL TIME

A game of 2 halves again for the Minstrel today but again we get the 3 points. Exactly the same score as the previous fixture back in August!

Less said about the first half the better really, centre half Leo Hawkins channelled his old left winger days by dancing down the left and chipping a great ball into striker Ethan Barnard for his first of the day. Leo then proceeded to put the ball into the back of his own net to make it 1-1. Sloppy defending from a corner meant Backworth were 2-1 up with a header from inside the 6 yard box before right back Ivan Gilpin played a lovely channel ball into Dan Banks who cut in and fired home at the near post - 4 goals in quick succession. Another set piece again bobbling into the 6 six yard box hitting off other centre half Kyle Hawkins' chest for the 2nd own goal of the game putting Backworth 3-2 up. However some good play between strikers Ethan Barnard and Dan Banks allowed Banks to fire home to level the scores again. The final moments of the second half saw Dan Banks through on goal and brought down by the Backworth defender in the box - Kyle Hawkins made up for his earlier OG by slotting this one home for 3-4.

A better second half but still not at our best. Winger Gio La Rosa found midfielder Sam Browning who slotted into the far corner to give us a 2 goal cushion. The subs then came on for some fresh legs, with Max Houghton, returning from injury, finding Ethan Barnard's head at the back post for his 2nd of the game. After 5 mins with the team down to 10 while Dan Banks was off with cramp, the striker came back on to seal his hattrick after getting on the end of a lovely weighted through ball from Dillon Noble to put the game to bed. Backworth did get a final conciliation goal with a good cross and header but the ref blew his whistle before a comeback could be staged.

2 more games left for this season, but another weekend off for the boys before the last fixtures.
