FULL TIME
Heartbreak as we exit the cup, but we gave it a decent shot!
Going 2 nil down is never ideal, but Jack Bowden won a penalty on the brink of half time - Kyle Hawkins sent the keeper the wrong way to send us into half time at 2-1.
A defensive mixup let the High Street regain their 2 goal advantage - then we saw on of the worst sights to see... our GK went down injured. In fairness, was a mega effort from Bred who was injured at HT but managed to do another 25 mins for the team. Up stepped Lewis Bowman who did a solid for the team, didn't put a foot wrong (wont mention the goal kicks lol) and kept a clean sheet!
We threw men forward to try and get back into the game and Kyle Hawkins bagged his second of the game from a long ball from Euan Wilson. A few close opportunities at the end but we couldn't find an equaliser to take it to pens.
A solid effort from the lads in torrential rain against a really good High Street side! A free week next week for the GNR then back at home where we face Barrasford FC from the Hexham Division in the Minor Cup.
