Happy to announce details of an additional pre season friendly, as we will be travelling to the Belle View Stadium on Sunday the 9th of August to play Consett AFC Women in a 2pm kickoff.

The Steelers are in a very similar position to ourselves, having been promoted from Durham Womens Division Two as runners up and moving up to DCFA Division One for the 2026/27 season. Consett had risen up to NE Regional level in recent years, before dropping back down to rebuild, so no doubt share our ambition and will provide a tougher challenge than their current league position suggests.

We're looking forward to visiting another NPL-standard stadium and what should be a cracking match, backed by the travelling Spartans faithful. 💚

We're delighted to announce our plans for pre-season, in preparation for our 2026/27 league campaign.

First up, we take part in the first ever 'double header' alongside Blyth Spartans men's team at Croft Park, Saturday 11th of July, with the lasses kicking off at 11am before the lads game in the afternoon. Our opening game will be a good challenge, as Spennymoor Town Ladies F.C. Reserves compete a tier above us, in the Durham Premiership so will be pushing us to play at our best. Your support on this day will be crucial as this 'club v club' event is the first of it's kind.

We then travel to Amberley Park on the 26th of July to take on Killingworth FC Women. Killi's young squad competed in NFL Division One [that we have been promoted into] and will provide high energy opposition to the Spartans. The club has a canny clubhouse that overlooks the pitch, so a great away day for fans.

On the 2nd of August we will be taking part in Hugo's Little Lion Cup, hosted by Prudhoe Town Women FC. This charity tournament will see Blyth line up in a 7-a-side format against some top level teams from across the region and we are excited to pit ourselves against these sides, whilst supporting an incredibly good cause.

We hit the road again on the 9th of August, with details of the fixture due to be released soon. Trust us, it's a good one.

Next up is another tough game as we travel to Craik Park on the 16th of August to take on fellow Northumbrians Morpeth Town Women AFC. Runners up in the NFL Premiership, this will be another good workout for Blyth and hopefully a good crowd too at a canny ground.

On the 23rd of August we will be heading to Leam Rangers Women and Girls Football, who were promoted to the NERWFL North after finishing runners up in the Durham Premiership. Rangers will be using this game to try out some young players who have come through their youth system, but we still expect it to be an excellent game against a side two tiers above us.

Finally we wrap things up with a game against Scawthorpe Scorpions JFC, who have selected Blyth as part of their annual 'big weekend', where they go on a roadtrip, play a game and then go on a night out. Competing in Sheffield & Hallamshire Division 3, the Scorpions are a bit of an unknown quantity, but we expect it to be an entertaining game. This friendly will be played at Wensleydale, Saturday 29th of August, 3pm kickoff.

Though we don't know just yet who we will be playing this season in NFL Division One, we want to make sure whatever challenge lies ahead, we are ready for it! 💪
