We are super proud of this amazing lady and all she has achieved so far and we know this is only the start 💜
Here's what Maureen has to say about her journey so far...
“I have just celebrated the second anniversary, from the recovery of a Stroke I suffered and I cannot believe how far I have come, with the help of the staff and members of Curves Beith.
One April morning in 2024, I hobbled with my walking stick into Curves Beith and asked Audrey if she thought I would ever manage to do the Curves circuit again. After consulting with my doctor, I decided to give it a go!.
Here I am, two years later, and after a great deal of encouragement, support and advice from Audrey and the staff, I no longer use a walking stick!. I attend Curves two or three times per week. I like to attend some of the classes which are great fun. I took part in the Bootcamp in June. Recently, with lots of encouragement from Sharon and some of the others, I managed to walk a MILE at the Walk and Talk monthly session!
It is a joy to come into Curves as everyone is so friendly and supportive. I have made lots of new friends and it is such a welcoming place, when you come through the door, no matter what else is going on in your life. The staff members are always on hand to assist and encourage you and answer any questions you might have.
I would say to anyone, (in fact, shout it from the roof tops!!) come along and give it a try and meet other likeminded women. It is only thirty minutes out of your day and you will definitely benefit not just your physical fitness, but your sleeping, motivation, strength and mental wellbeing.”
Our Member Of The Month is so kindly sponsored by our lovely Gayle at The little gift shop and for this we are extremely grateful... so please pop in and see her shop if you haven't been yet. It's a wee treasure trove!
