Swansea Half Marathon – 1:24 -Official Photos 📸

I’m not starting a new craze … I dropped an Arm Sleeve just before the start. 🙈I tried to go back and find it, no luck 😫

Standing on the start line, freezing, I thought, “Well, I may as well throw the other one away too.” Then I remembered doing exactly that at the Berlin Marathon and later regretting it because I could never find the same colour sleeves again!

While all these completely pointless thoughts were running through my head, the countdown began…

10, 9, 8, 7…

Before I knew it, we were off.

For the first 5km, I was slower than a trolley with a dodgy wheel. At one point, I even considered jumping over a fence and calling it a day.

I share this because I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s had their race derailed by something small and ended up overthinking it all. 🙈😂

Thankfully, the ending was a good one. With about 8km to go, I finally got over my loss relaxed, and started running properly and clocking some sub 4 min km’s.

The race time was over at this point but at least I finished stronger than the start.

This photo is a reminder that things don’t always go to plan. As Captain Tom said: “Tomorrow will be a good day” and not to throw my toys out when a little things happen.

P.S. If anyone found a grey Adidas running sleeve, I know someone who’s missing one!

Swansea Half 1:24 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

This was a steady start and built myself into it, increasing the pace and finishing with solid negative splits. Another one ticked off and some good training in the legs ready for the next one.

Porthcawl 10k next .. few weeks to prepare for this one and get ready 🙌

Our Couch to 5K club has officially started, and what a fantastic turnout it was🙌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Everyone was a little nervous at the beginning, but as soon as they spotted the Madri cups, they soon relaxed... only to discover it was squash at the finish, not beer! 😂🍺

We talked through the 8-week plan before heading off for a 2km session around the castle. With a mixture of walking, running, and well-earned recovery breaks, everyone got it done and should be really proud of themselves.

Next week we’ll be pushing a little further and a little faster, and I’m already looking forward to it!

See you all next week at

SSAFA 5K – Race 2 - 17:42 tonight, my second-fastest 5K to date🥈

I went for it from the start, but the strong headwind definitely made things tough out there. The goal for this summer is clear: Project Sub-17. 🤞

Time to get back in the gym, keep stacking the sessions, and chase that next breakthrough.

If you’ve never entered this event before, it’s a must-do for anyone looking to run a PB. Fast course, great atmosphere, and a brilliant series to be part of🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
