At this time of year, we return to familiar routines or perhaps create new ones that serve us better. A good routine should not be dull and restrictive; it should motivate and free us. This is the paradox: we commit to a routine so that we can live productively, efficiently and have more creative space.
For me, a good yoga routine has the same qualities. Returning to familiar rythms, postures and processes each week provides students with a secure base from which to explore and adventure. When I create my classes, I am looking for this sweet spot that balances familiarity with novelty and discipline with playfulness.
This week, we are using the strap throughout the class, exploring the range of ways it can support and advance our practice.
New and returning students are always warmly welcome. All the props, equipment and comforts are here for you, so come exactly as you are.
Commit to routine, commit to yourself.
