🏏 KIDS VS PARENTS WORLD CUP 🏏

What a day at ACC - a huge thank you to everyone who came down and made our Kids vs Parents World Cup such a brilliant day.
The support from the sidelines was incredible, with a fantastic crowd cheering the teams on throughout 👏🏻

Congratulations to Pakistan for taking home the trophy, and our runners up India! 🏆

Thank you to Greg for organising such a great day, and to all the players, parents, supporters and everyone behind the scenes.

A fantastic way to spend a bank holiday, although we suspect a few parents (and grandparents!) might be feeling it tomorrow morning... 🤣👀🥴

📣 HELP ACC RAISE FUNDS FOR OUR OUT FIELD MOWER 📣

For generations, Ashington Cricket Club has been more than just a cricket club – it’s a place where friendships are made, young people grow in confidence, and our community comes together.

Every week we welcome hundreds of people of all ages, from children picking up a bat for the first time to adult players, families and local residents enjoying our clubhouse and events. Our men’s, women’s, academy and junior teams provide opportunities to stay active, build confidence, learn teamwork and create lifelong friendships.

We are proud that many of our senior players started as juniors, with some progressing to county and professional cricket, including England internationals Steve Harmison and Mark Wood. Today, our young players continue to progress through the Durham Cricket pathway, proving what grassroots sport can achieve.

As a volunteer-run, not-for-profit club, every penny we raise is reinvested into maintaining and improving our ground and facilities, developing players and supporting our members. Last year, we used our reserves to replace storm-damaged practice nets, ensuring our players had safe facilities to train.

Now we’re facing another major challenge. Our tractor, which is essential for maintaining the outfield, has broken down. We are exploring whether it can be repaired, but the work required would be expensive and is only expected to provide a short-term solution. While we continue to repay the loan for the tractor, we cannot afford to replace it, and in the meantime we are relying on costly contractors to cut the grass.

To secure the club’s future, we’re raising £10,000 to purchase a robotic mower. This will reduce long-term maintenance costs, ease the burden on our volunteers, and keep our ground in excellent condition for years to come.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help protect an important community asset, support grassroots cricket, and ensure Ashington Cricket Club continues to provide opportunities for future generations to learn, play and belong.
