Weekend Round-Up – Part 2

While our masters were competing at Nottingham last weekend, our juniors were in action across two days of racing at Durham Regatta 💪

The squad produced some fantastic performances, with plenty of crews progressing through to competitive finals and putting in some brilliant racing throughout the weekend.

Weekend Round-Up – Part 1

12 of our members headed to the British Rowing Masters Championships this weekend, competing across six events against some of the best masters crews in the country.

A huge congratulations to Paul Freeman, who took home🥇Gold in the Op Lwt H/I 1x with a superb performance.

A special shout-out also goes to our ladies in the W Int 36+ 8+, who battled hard to secure an impressive🥈second place finish.

There were also strong performances from Tom Carter and Andy Appleby in their singles events, both racing their way through to their finals against tough competition 💪

And finally, keep an eye out for Tom's moment of fame on the British Rowing channels thanks to his jazzy AIO and excellent heat race 😎 (link in the comments!)

💚 Weekend Round-Up 💚

The club was split across two locations this weekend, with crews racing at Hexham Regatta while five of our juniors headed north to compete at the Scottish Rowing Championships.

🏆 Wansbeck Regatta 2026 Results 🏆

The racing certainly didn't disappoint, with some fantastic performances throughout the day and plenty of close contests across all categories.

This year's Victor Ludorum competition could not have been any tighter, with Lambton Rowing club, HRC Hexham Rowing Club and our own Cambois Rowing Club all finishing on 11 wins each. Congratulations to all three clubs, who will share the Barrie Hanley Cup as joint winners. 🏆

Huge congratulations also to Tyne United Rowing Club, whose WJ18 4x crew took home the Eric Shiel Trophy 🏆

💚🤍 Thank You 🤍💚

A huge thank you to all the clubs, athletes, coaches, officials and supporters who joined us at Wansbeck Regatta yesterday. We were fortunate to enjoy some fantastic weather and a great day of racing on the river.

We would also like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we worked through a few issues during the morning. Your support was greatly appreciated.

Events like Wansbeck Regatta are vital to clubs like ours, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who travelled to race and be part of the day.

Finally, a massive thank you to every single volunteer who gave up their time to make the event possible. From the planning and set up through to race day and pack down, we simply couldn't run the regatta without you.

The draw is now out for this weekend’s Wansbeck Regatta 👀🔥

🚣‍♂️ National Schools Regatta 2026 🚣‍♂️

This weekend Owen and Harry represented Cambois in the Championship 1x against some of the strongest competition in the country!

Both produced impressive performances in incredibly hot, tough conditions against a field of 53 entries ☀️💥

👏 Owen battled through to the C Final with some strong racing across the weekend.

🔥 Harry made the A Final and finished an outstanding 5th place!

Huge well done to both boys and thanks to Wayne for his support, along with everyone back home following the racing 🙌

A much drier weekend than Durham, with a tough crosswind building through the day 💨

Great experience for our younger crews across four lane racing, with lots of progress and strong performances across the board 👊

A busy two-day event at Durham City Regatta saw mixed conditions, with rain on Saturday followed by welcome sunshine on Sunday.

Across the weekend there was excellent racing, with many crews progressing through to some close finals. Wins were secured in:

What a way to kick off the first Sunday League Splash & Dash of the year! 🌊🚣‍♀️

After a wet start, it looked like we were in for a washout—but the weather held and gave us a perfect day for racing.

Our crews absolutely delivered:

⚡ Rowling Thunder dominated—4 races, 4 wins, completely unbeaten!
💥 Splashington Dashers bounced back from a bow-ball loss to win their next 3 in style
🐀 Wansbeck River Rats showed huge progress, finishing their final race just shy of a win—victory is definitely on the horizon

All in all, an incredible day on the water in a stunning setting. Thanks Berwick Amateur Rowing Club for having us! Days like this are what it’s all about 💚🤍
