It feels like an age since we last had rugby at The Rec… but this Thursday, we’re finally back! 🙌

The lads welcome Ponteland RFC for a preseason friendly as preparations continue for the new season.

🏉 Wednesday Night = Walking Rugby! 💙💛
Another enjoyable session at The Rec last night, with a good turnout despite a number of our regulars being away on holiday or tied up with other commitments.

Those who did make it were treated to another fun and competitive game, with plenty of good rugby, questionable interpretations of the word “walking” 👀😂 and the usual laughs along the way!

It's been brilliant to see how the Walking Rugby group has grown over the summer, and there's always room for more. Whether you've played rugby all your life or have never picked up a rugby ball before, you're more than welcome to come along and join in.

🏉 18 Players, One Ref & Another Cracking Wednesday Night! 💙💛

Another brilliant turnout for Walking Rugby last night, with 18 players taking to the pitch for what turned into a fast, competitive and thoroughly enjoyable game!

With Dom Jaques unfortunately sidelined through injury, he swapped playing duties for the whistle and kept everyone (mostly!) under control from the referee's position. 👀😂 Thanks for stepping in, Dom! 👏

The pace might be slightly quicker than the word "walking" suggests at times, but that's all part of the fun! Another great session played in fantastic spirits, with plenty of laughs along the way.

A huge thanks to everyone who came along and made it another cracking night. 🙌

⚠️ FINAL WARNING – DOG FOULING ⚠️

Unfortunately, despite our previous message, the problem with dog fouling around the club grounds is continuing.

We want to be absolutely clear — this is now a final warning.

Ashington JW Rugby Club is proud to be a dog-friendly club, and we would much rather keep it that way. However, our volunteers should not have to spend their time cleaning up after irresponsible dog owners.

We have plenty of dog waste bins around the grounds. There really is no excuse for leaving dog mess behind.

If things do not improve, the Management Committee will have no option but to NOT ALLOW dogs to be walked on our grounds.

We appreciate that the vast majority of dog walkers are responsible and do the right thing. This message is aimed at those who don't.

🐾 Bag it. Bin it. Respect our club.

Please help us keep the grounds clean, safe and welcoming for everyone who uses them.

A fun, social version of the game with plenty of laughs along the way. Whether you’ve played rugby before or you’re completely new to it, you’ll be made very welcome.

🦁 ASH LIONZ – SOCIAL TOUCH RUGBY
⏰ 7:00–8:30pm

Fast, fun and open to everyone. Come along, get moving and enjoy a game of social touch rugby with the Lionz!
