📣📣 CALLING ALL COLLIERS 📣📣

We are at the planning stages of our new monthly Ashington AFC fanzine starting next season, celebrating all things connected to the Colliers.

As part of the magazine, we would love to include a nostalgia section looking back at the players, teams, matches and memories that have helped shape the club over the years.

Were you a former Ashington AFC player? Or do you know someone who was?

We are looking for people who would be happy to share their memories of Ashington AFC, whether that is favourite matches, old teammates, dressing room stories, cup runs, promotions, away days or what the club meant to them.

We are also looking for any old photos, team photos, programmes or memorabilia that could help bring those memories to life.

If you played for the Colliers or were involved in any capacity and would be happy to take part, please send us a message.

We would also especially love to hear any memories of Portland Park, our former ground, from those who played there, watched games there or have old photos and stories from that era.

We have been inundated with applications for both the role of 'Head of Recruitment' and 'Opposition Analyst'.

We are working our way through applications and will be in touch with applicants as soon as possible with next steps.

We are no longer accepting further applications for these two roles.

We are however still accepting applications for the role of 'Physiotherapist'.

We are delighted to confirm that Matty Alexander has committed to the club ahead of the new season.

Though he missed out on some game time last term through injury, he had some absolutely standout performances which impressed our management who were very keen to keep him!

🤝🤝 2026 / 2027 - SQUAD 🤝🤝

Next up to commit to the club for 2026/27 is Ryan Donaldson.

35 year old Ryan came though Newcastle's youth academy from the age of 7, eventually leaving the club for a move to Gateshead in 2012.

The solid midfielder first joined Ashington in January 2025 and has made 57 appearances for the club so far.

Donaldson also played for England U17s and U19s. At U19 level he scored on his debut in a 3-1 win over Slovenia.

ENGLAND - MATCHDAY 1

As this is our regular quiz night, the game will be shown in the bar area.
