CLUB STATEMENT

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that Bedlington Terriers Football Club must announce that the club will be folding with immediate effect.

This is an incredibly difficult moment for everyone connected with the Terriers. A club with such a long and proud history, built by generations of players, volunteers, supporters, and officials, has been an important part of the local community for many years. The memories created on and off the pitch will never be forgotten.

The decision to bring the club to an end has not been taken lightly. Despite the tireless efforts of those involved to keep the club going, circumstances have made it impossible to continue. It is heartbreaking to see a club with so much tradition and passion come to an end in this way.

We would like to thank all players, managers, coaches, committee members, sponsors, and supporters who have represented and supported Bedlington Terriers Football Club over the years. Your commitment, loyalty, and love for the club are what made it special.

While the club may no longer continue, its legacy will live on in the memories of everyone who had the privilege of being part of Bedlington Terriers Football Club.

It’s been a long 5 months since we were no longer allowed back in our clubhouse. We reached out to social media and were met with support and negativity. Even prior to this Glen Sanderson himself appeared on local news to say he would do everything he can to help.
We held our protest, made a noise which got our local councillors talking about support. That was back in July. The discussions are still taking place between legal departments.
Ian Lavery himself discussed Bedlington Terriers just recently when addressing CISWO.
I just wanted to take us back to July where the council as per the statement of local councillor had to “step in as a responsible landowner and trustee”.

Whatever your opinions of the club I’m sure all will agree that this surely cannot be what the charity commission wants made of the land. We would love to be back in our home ground, there has been lots of speculation on what will happen to the ground such other teams already lined up to move in, the site to be knocked down and land sold for houses. The truth is we know as much as you, the silence tortures the club and the future has never felt as uncertain. We need answers

It’s so sad to see welfare park just standing going to wreck & ruin , NCC kicked us out in may , the place is standing empty while the team has to play at ashingtons hirst welfare , it’s boarded up like and old prison looks terrible and I don’t see any reason they can’t let the Terriers play there , we can’t fund anything because club is shut , NCC have say they can’t fund the upkeep of the ground but Terriers have done this for the past 59 years so just let us continue .
A community kicked out of a safe place , kids parents grand parents stopped from watching a towns senior club .
we are going to lose the Terriers forever if we are not allowed to play there again .

A very good point put in parliament yesterday by MP Ian Lavery supporting Bedlington Terriers eviction from welfare park , a positive move for us , we would like to thank Ian for his help and getting to the truth of this matter .
Let’s hope CISWO now make the right move .
Now it’s time to get behind the Terriers again and get us back where we belong ❤️please share , comment and show your support .
