Gordon Skiers racing team is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Head Coach, Madison Spence. ⛷️
Madison has been coaching with Gordon Skiers since moving to Aberdeen to study Law at university. Originally from Edinburgh, having skied for a number of clubs including LSR, ATC, BSA, and the Scottish Ski Team.

Since joining Gordon Skiers Madison has been instrumental in the club’s growth and development, helping to expand training opportunities at our home slope in Alford as well as running international camps to the English Alpine Championships for two consecutive years.

Madison said:
“I am incredibly honoured and excited to take on the role of Head Coach at Gordon Skiers. Having been part of the club for a number of years, I have loved watching it grow and develop into the thriving community it is today.

Ski racing has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I am passionate about helping young athletes discover the same enjoyment, confidence and opportunities that the sport has given me. My goal is to do everything I can to support the continued growth of the club, creating the best possible environment for our athletes, and help every skier reach their full potential.

It has been amazing to see what our athletes, coaches and volunteers have accomplished together. I am excited to continue building on that success and to help shape the next chapter of Gordon Skiers”

A huge thank you to everyone who attended today’s festival! From intro to race and race training to some seriously competitive moments in the family dual SL, it was a fantastic day from start to finish. especially great to see parents getting involved too! There was plenty going on with bake sales, BBQs, raffles, there was something for everyone. A special thank you to and for coming along and giving everyone the chance to check out and test some new skis.

⛷The Gordon Skiers Ski Festival⛷
Sunday is shaping up to be a fun day at Alford with over 220 participants across the events. Rossignol and Craigdon Mountain Sports will have stands providing Rossignol, Atomic and Dynastar ski testing and advice. You can try the skis during the training, intro and open sessions or even race with them.

🎿Slalom races and Family Dual SL.🎿Several spaces remain avail for individual SL racers from U8-Mas. These are fun races with multiple runs to try and improve your technique and times. If you wish to enter the Family Dual Slalom, only 5 team slots remain avail (7 teams booked)- this will surely be a fun end to the day, come on parents, sign up and give it a go.

Awards night !!!
Well done to all athletes who competed over the last year in the gordon’s championship league 🏅The improvement has been exceptional 🎿 A special congratulations to Fergus winning the minis club champ and to Elodie and Layla for joint first in the children category!!! 🥇🥇🥇. The most improved was also awarded, this award goes the the mini and child who has given there all over the last year and put a lot of effort and care into there time on the hill. Not just technically getting stronger but becoming a valuable member of the gordon’s community for us all to look up too ! Minis went to Calum MacLugash and child went to Elodie Burnside. Congratulations to all the gordon’s team !!!

⛷Ski Festival 2026⛷
Following the success of last years Ski Festival at Alford, Gordon Skiers will be holding this years Ski Festival on Sun 10th May. This year we have made a few changes to provide more variety, there are more beginner sessions, Ski it Laldy SL race, Family Dual Slalom, Rossignol are attending offering ski testing, all day BBQ, and lots more.
