Students have brought me flowers.

Students have brought me vegan food.

Students have brought artwork, candy, money and energy - these gifts change my world and truly make me feel seen.

Do not underestimate another gift, though, which touched just as deeply and should not be overlooked:

Students who bring a friend.

Here’s a specific overview of the class styles I teach (and how I teach them) for you to consider when signing up:

POWER YOGA - My most rigorous class. An artfully sequenced, breath-focused, technically curated vinyasa flow. I offer a new “focus” each month - often an arm balance - so students can see tangible progress with regular practice. There are no levels in yoga, but I do recommend experience with Sun Salutations, Hatha postures and Meditation prior to my Power practice. This class draws physically playful students, type-A athletes and those who require a good sweat to find their meditation.

MAT PILATES - An unbranded system of spine mobility and controlled core exercises created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. I teach classical Pilates from a career dancer’s perspective, focusing on stabilizing the torso in space during increasingly complex limb movements. All level students thrive in the same class setting, as I teach slowly and methodically in an endurance format while focusing on technique. I consider Pilates the “Foundational Movement” you take to all other movements: weight lifting, running, hiking, cycling, paddling, skiing, yoga, dance, unloading groceries, doing the laundry, playing with your pet … stabilize the torso first, then move.

YIN YOGA - Yin may just be THE most practiced form of posture-based yoga. A long-hold, gentle yoga practice focused on developing Yin energies and down-regulating the nervous system. Often practiced with supportive props, in a darkened room, to a soothing soundtrack, holding postures 5-10 min each. Don’t be fooled by Yin’s soft exterior - many students find stillness, presence and breath quite challenging. Others find this class the ideal set up for 60 min of meditation. No experience necessary.

HOT & HEATED - I teach all of the above in hot and heated formats as well as unheated. Check with the studio or me directly to discover the temperature and type of heating (infrared vs forced air) of the class you’re interested in attending.

Here’s a *broad* overview of what I teach for you to consider before you sign up.

YOGA - Yoga is an ancient practice, originating in India, that aims to connect your body, mind and consciousness through physical movements, breath awareness and meditation. Different styles of yoga will focus more or less on any of above techniques, but the goal for all is well-being and self-realization.

HOT YOGA - Any style of yoga practiced in a heated environment. This can be infrared heat (my personal favorite), forced air or a part of the world that is naturally hot outdoors. These classes are often heated to between 97-103F (36-40C), but some studios have HEATED classes (rather than HOT) that may be in the 82-89F (28-32C) range. You can always call the studio (or ask me, your teacher, directly) to confirm the heat or lack of for the class you are interested in.

BEACH YOGA - The title says it all! Bonus points if also practiced at sunset.

MAT PILATES - An unbranded system of spine mobility and controlled core exercises created in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates. Mat Pilates is performed on a mat, often choreographs breath with movement and (the way I teach it) has the goal of moving the torso through space with stability, intelligence and grace.

GROUP CLASSES - Any of the above taught in a group, often at a studio.

PRIVATE CLASSES - One on one guidance at an agreed upon location (studio, gym, home, online).

SPECIAL CLASSES - A group class that adds something a little different to your regular practice. We might include a themed playlist, massage, sound bath, brand collaboration giveaways or even costumes.

WORKSHOPS - A chance to deep-dive into a specific subject. This year I’ve taught Arm Balance and Headstand workshops. I’m guiding a Handstand Workshop Series all summer (link in bio).
