Sometimes the best race happens when you stop staring at your watch and start trusting yourself. 💙
Organic Coaching athlete Kirk, coached by Coach Carly, went into this race with a simple plan:
Stay controlled.
Run by feel.
Find a steady rhythm.
Enjoy the day.
And he nailed it.
The course had more hills than expected, but Kirk ran every one of them, only walking through the water stop and briefly to take his UCAN gel.
Even better?
The race was two 3.5-mile loops, and Kirk ran the second loop 1:30 faster than the first. 🔥
A beautiful negative split and a perfect example of what patient pacing can do.
His post-race message said it best:
“I did as you said for the race. Really felt good and I enjoyed it! Did not look at my watch much, just got into a steady pace.”
THIS is the kind of progress we love seeing.
Not just getting faster, but learning how to pace, trust your body, stay patient early, and finish strong.
And this race is another important step toward Kirk's next big goal:
🏃♂️ The Twin Cities Marathon this fall!
Fantastic work, Kirk! Coach Carly is proud of this one, and we're excited to keep building toward that marathon start line.
