May is renowned for its chironomid hatches here in the Interior of BC. Aside from chironomids, always keep an eye out for other hatches happening on the water at this time.

This large rainbow was keying in on May fly nymphs as they were rising off the w**d beds to the surface. May fly hatches happen quickly and often do not last very long so you need to act fast.

They tend bring the fish from eating in deeper water, to feeding in the shallows. When this happens, get ready for some chaotic takes and battles!
