Congratulations to Logan Strickland , our junior league Allan Proctor award winner for 2026. The warad is given in the memory of one of our coaches from about 20 years ago and recognizes a player with exemplary sportsmanship, competitive drive, grit and determination.
I will update with the other award winners when I fill in all the blanks.

The River Dogs held off a last inning rally from the Party Animals for the second game in a row to take the junior championship with a 2-1 win.
The tense contest featured some great defensive efforts that kept the score close in the lowest-scoring championship final in our 36 seasons.
Caymion Drysdale opened the scoring for the River Dogs in the first inning , scoring on Peyton MacDonald’s long double.
The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the fourth inning when Peyton again doubled and was batted in by Chase Richards.
The plucky Party Animals fought back in the final stanza with Logan Strickland singling and then scoring as Lily Sampson singled and advanced to third on Ezekiel Payne’s double.
Peyton then struck out the side for the win.
The River Dogs were coached by Kevin Matheson, Scott Davis and Hunter Matheson.
The Party Animals were coached by Eric Strickland, Maya Dupuis and Dan Dupuis.
In the consolation final the Trash Pandas won the extra inning brought forward from Sunday night’s tie as Ciera Yue Skinner batted in Kyla McLeod with the winning run in a 9-8 win over the Chicken Nuggies.
The Pandas took the series with a 10-0 win in the second game with William MacDonald, Harrison Engram, Lincoln Brine, Wyatt Gaudet each scoring two runs.
The Pandas were coached by Ethan Engram, Ian MacDonald and Andee Taylor.
Xavier Field had a double for the Chicken Nuggies.
The Chicken Nuggies were coached by Mark O’Laughlin and Jeff Decker.

Reminder: Jr Playoffs tonight start at 6pm sharp! We have a daunting schedule tonight and starting on time is needed.

The 6th inning from last nights game will start first between the Nuggies and Trash Pandas. Once that game has been decided we will start their Game 2.

Game 2 between the Party Animals @ River Dogs is scheduled to start at 730pm.

The music will be playing and the kids will be getting intros all game long tonight since it went over so well last night.

Thank you all again for coming out and supporting our kids on the field! We hope everyone has a great experience and time cheering them on, even when it gets a bit late!

The River Dogs held off a spirited last inning rally by the Pary Animals for a 7-5 win in the first game of the best of three junior championship final this evening.

Logan Strickland scored his second run of the game and Jude Roher and Ezekiel Payne also crossed the plate for the Party Animals who entered the final stanza down 7-2.

Peyton MacDonald pounded a three run home over the cones and scored two runs for the River Dogs. Vicki Ann Cann batted in two runs with a single in the third inning for the Dogs.

The series resumes at 7:30 pm Monday evening.

The consolation series also had a dramatic final inning as the Chicken Nuggies scored four runs to tie the game 9-9 in the last inning. The game had to be called because of time limitations and will resume Monday evening at 6 pm with the extra inning or innings being played before the second game begins.

Paul Holder Parent-Child September 2026
The Paul Holder parent-child tournament will take place Sept. 11 to 13. The fee is $15 per family or $5 per single child entry. Payment can be made by etransfer to [email protected] or in cash at the first game. Parents and children send entries to [email protected] and are randomly placed on teams. Please state the age of players in your email. Games take place Friday evening; all day Saturday and again on Sunday. We use a reduced impact ball and have a modified set of rules to promote sportsmanship and fun. This event is staged for the children. Over more than 35 years it has evolved from a competitive event to one where we invite participation regardless of ability. All teams play five games – no playoffs and no special awards for the winners other than bragging rights.
This is always a popular event, and we usually fill the six teams before the deadline, which is 6 pm Tuesday Sept. 8.
Rules
1. Each team must have seven players to start the game. Games are five innings or one hour. Five run maximum per inning. Ten runs ahead rule after three innings. Fifth inning is open.
2. No bunting, no infield fly rule.
3. Lob ball/intro players can participate, they hit and run bases, but their runs do not count.
4. Junior players must wear helmets and get first base automatically on a hit. Fly balls hit by a junior must be allowed to hit the ground.
5. Tie games stand- no extra innings.
6. Safe line, strike mat and commitment line are used.
7. No sliding into bases.
8. Maximum 10 players on the field (intro players are not included in the total but cannot play on the infield).
9. One over the fence home run per team per game. If a team has one out of the park homer and someone on the same team hits another it is an out.
10. The league rules about sportsmanship and fair play are in effect. Disputing umpire calls, abusive behaviour or language is prohibited.
11. No smoking, va**ng, or alcohol on HRM property.

Addison Strickland hammered a grand slam homer and Emmitt Berrigan banged out two dingers as the Bananas downed the A’s 15 to 1 in the first game of the senior championship final series this evening.
Elliott Bethel scored the lone run for the A’s.
The best of three series resumes Wednesday Sept. 2 at 7:30 pm.
The Unicorns won their first game of the season by downing the Angels 19 to 8 to open the best of three consolation round.
Aiden Phillips had a three-run homer and crossed the plate four times for the Unicorns. Siena Flight crossed the plate three times for the pointy heads and Vanessa Wyles went four for four at the plate and scored twice.
Liam Turner had a pair of doubles and scored three times for the Angels. Emmi Isenor had another strong defensive effort, snaring a hot line drive and snaring a hot grounder for an out at first.
The consolation series resumes next Wednesday at 6 pm.

The A’s and the Bananas moved on to the championship round of the playoffs with decisive semi-final wins this evening.
The Bananas shut out the Angels 10-0 with Hunter Doggett smacking a three run homer and scoring two runs. Simon Jefferson also crossed the plate twice for the Bananas.
Shortstop Emmi Isenor was the defensive star for the Angels, making three outs on hot grounders for outs at second base.
In the early game the A’s downed the Unicorns 15 to 1. Max Shubley, Hunter Matheson, Georgia Shubley and Kylie Murphy each scored twice for the A’s.
Lily Dupuis scored the Unicorns’ lone run and teamed up with Beau Dupuis for a bang-bang double play.
The Unicorns now play the Angels in the two out of three consolation championship round starting at 6 pm Thursday.
The Bananas play the A’s in the best of three championship round at 7:30 pm.
