Today, we remember Gozo Shioda Kancho on the anniversary of his passing.

Founder of Yoshinkan Aikido, Gozo Shioda Kancho dedicated his life to preserving and sharing the true spirit of Aikido. Through his unwavering discipline, technical excellence, and indomitable spirit, he built a legacy that continues to inspire practitioners around the world.

His teachings remind us that Aikido is not simply about technique, it is about developing character, maintaining composure under pressure, and striving for continuous self-improvement.

As members of the Yoshinkan family, we are privileged to carry forward the art he created. Every time we bow onto the mat, practice kihon dosa, or help a fellow student improve, we honor his vision and commitment.

Thank you, Shioda Kancho, for leaving us a path worth following.
